Once the hunted, Sarah Palin becomes the hunter.
Sarah stunned the world Friday by doing something that isn’t done. She is willfully giving up one of the most powerful positions a politician can aspire to. She is stepping down as Governor of one of the most important states in America.
The media elites were stunned. It was almost hilarious watching their reactions of disbelief. Their commentary was downright entertaining, and further proof that they don’t have a clue. Even those on Fox!
And the symbolism of doing this on the 4th of July holiday, the time we celebrate our nation’s birth, and our independence, was completely lost on the whole lot!
Almost universally, no one in the elite media got it. This is a huge comment on why our nation is in deep, deep trouble. One reporter on Fox, who has covered Sarah since she became Governor, went so far to say that her speech was “rambling”, and “incoherent.” Again, this just proves that even the media we most trust for news doesn’t a clue about real Americans.
Sarah Palin sounded just like us! We, the people, understood every single word she said. This is the reason she is wildly popular in the first place. She IS one of us!
Of course, just as universally silly as the commenters are, the pundits are even more clueless. And, evidently, devoid of any and all abilities of comprehension, be it for the written word, or spoken. We’ll get to the speech itself in due time, but suffice it to say, that for normal Americans, those who this speech was aimed at, this was a call to action.
Now the talking heads all agree that Sarah is done.
No chance of ever being anything again.

Amen! Sarah Palin has seen those vipers up close now for nearly a year. She sees the evil oozing through the country and is determined to do her part to defeat it.

I've never been more fearful for my country. Gov. Palin understands it. She may never be president but she's put herself on the line for our country. I'm all-in for her and I hope to live long enough to see it all pay off.

I do, but that’s more of a federal thing than a state governor thing.
Not when Alaska has had to chase Russian Air jets out of American airspace. When I say ALASKA, I mean the Alaskan National Guard. When I say Alaskan National Guard, I mean the Governor of Alaska is the Commander in Chief to them.
You must be one of those people who just sit back waiting on the feds if say a hurricane is coming or something.
A Russian jet is heading the 50 miles or so to AMERICAN SOIL and you think we should sit around and wait on the Air Force to get there?
Were they there on September 11th?
Only one I’ve read so far that really gets her and what it means.
We sre got way more freedom than anywheres else,, and no state or prop taxes.
If you’ve never lived here, you can’t begin to get a handle on how it is; different country than lower 48; which in itself promotes a different mindset towards govt.

I actually spoke to Sarah month and a half back. Told her how awful proud everybody was of her style & grace; also told her it was my belief that she would be the first woman Pres in USA;;;; should have seen the smile on her face. Then I gave her a gal bag of moose & caribou dry meat, which she opened right up. If you only had watched what she has done since the 90’s up here; you would be in awe of her.
Absolutely, Palin has put herself out there so it sure would be nice if we all had her back.
She may not make it to the presidency but she may too. The success in the next election and her part in it is crucial, imo. If she clearly becomes a national leader, she has what it takes to win.
The Alaska Air National Guard has two wings - one of KC-135s and one of C-130s and C-17s. Neither type is used to chase Russian Air jets out of American airspace. What is used to do that are regular Air Force squadrons out of Elmendorf F-15s and F-22s.

That is SO awesome. You are so lucky to have Sarah as your Governor, I look forward to what she does in the future. Such a wonderful human being, it is awful and it breaks my heart what the left continue to say and do to her. We need more Sarah’s in this world, this country would be in a lot better shape
And who do the elitist talking heads quote when they want to show that Palin isn't popular even with some Republicans? LISA MURKOWSKI, the Republican senator from Alaska and Frank's daughter.
Lisa's been playing payback the past couple of days -- and only ONCE have I heard a TV talking head explain that ol' Lisa may have an ulterior motive for trashing Palin. The media is in a frenzy to destroy Sarah.
LOL. A Russian jet on full burn and low alt WILL hit AK airspace rather quickly. And whether it’s ANG or USAF, they have their contigancies in place to react before any higher ups CAN be informed.
And no, I don’t wait or rely on anyone from the gov to help me out.
Her resignation from the Governor position is a calculated risk. Right now there is a huge leadership vacuum in the GOP, with only token, diminutive opposition to some of the big ticket items. This lack of opposition was clearly exemplified when Dick Cheney had to come out of retirement to successfully speak out about national security. I believe Sarah touched briefly on this lack of voice in a recent interview with Hannity.
I believe Sarah is trying to be part of this voice of opposition. It requires someone of a high political stature who can get through all the political noise to reach the ears of the people. When Sarah speaks a whole lot of people listen- even those who discredit her.
Don't know if this will lead to winning the Presidency. It will definitely help her to be closer to people in the lower 48, to get around a lot of the disinformation. I am reminded of when she said that if they expect her to sit down and shut up, they are mistaken.
She may be one of the few patriots remaining. Folks she needs our prayers for wisdom and protection.
