I posted an article I wrote titled, Women's Right to Vote, the Beginning of the End for America? Now I'm married and my wife agreed with my article, but had I been single I know I would have jeopardised any chance of ever getting married probably.

I guess what I am saying is that the only men who can really get away with an opinion that might piss of women, are us married men.

You single men, don't go there.

As I remember, the last 200 comments were discussions between a handful of women who kept raking my battered and bruised carcass over the coals as they stood around slapping each others hands over their heads doing high fives.

My wife gently nursed my battered ego so that I could get back on that horse and continue my irrelevant rants at society.

Pedal pushers aren’t bad. They are cooler than pants and cover the upper leg. I’m 59 and shorts don’t cut it anymore.

Exactly. And sorry about the cankles on some days, but I'm not wearing them to upset you, honest. I'm doing the best I can to be comfortable and covered on these 90 degree days!

I definitely agree with the poster upthread who would love to buy new clothes but can't find any until this hideous hip-hugger fad blows over. I've yet to see a gal they are actually attractive on, but I KNOW it ain't me.

Pockets! I want Pockets. Women’s clothes and little girl clothes do not have POCKETS! I dressed my girls in boy pant throughout their growing up years esp oshgosh, for the pockets! I cannot find enought women’s skirts and jackets with pockets for work

Well, my brother once said women's fashions were designed by men... No pockets so we can't carry money, and uncomfortable shoes so we can't run ;~)

But he's one of those single guys who probably shouldn't say stuff like that.

Marilyn...I had forgotten her wearing them too.

I think the real hatred was directed at the knit pants that get very tight and short after washing and especially the dryer shrinkage!!!

LONG LIVE CAPRI’S!

He is probably right

Actually I get elastic waist jeans at WalMart. They fit and come up around my waist. I have a spinal curveture so zip jeans "zig" funny and hurt.

I was also getting summer dresses there, White Stag and Bobbie Brooks. Nice demure, at the knee or below... don't carry them anymore. *sigh*

Btw, 24 yr old daughter hates skinny jeans and hip-huggers. She is slim and willowy enough but she just hates the style.

Yes, I am a seamstress also. When I see those little 4 inch zippers in slacks I just gag. Fabric stores must be doing a booming business lately.

What’s the problem?

They are not flattering to a women's figure.

High heels flatter a woman's figure because they give the illusion of longer legs. Capri pants do just the opposite, they give the illusion of short legs giving an overall squished visual.

I get knit pants for winter there too. They’re usually White Stag and Bobbie Brooks. In the 60’s they were upscale clothing. They’re WalMart now! LOL

It’s the baggy denim capris that look like crap on even a nice looking woman.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

They are perfect for mountain biking. The pant leg doesn't get caught in the chain. The fabric is long enough and durable enough to protect the legs from scratches.

Will put a pair on tomorrow for our weekly jaunt on the mountain.

First of all, we aren’t including skirts, dresses and frocks in the discussion at all — we are talking ladies sportswear — the stuff they hate to pick out.

My wife looks great in Capri Pants. I think she also looks great in the similar cropped pants but I don’t like that style as well.

The cropped pants are too similar to what we used to call “clam diggers” in the sixties. Almost like “high water pants” on a guy.

Most adult women over thirty-five without a Junior Petite frame in sizing look better in Capri Pants than in shorts.

Some women and men dress like they “don’t give a damn” and unfortuantly that is the impression I initially form and, unless changed by actions, leave with upon meeting someone. I see people wear to church, to air travel and to shop various outfits that I would use to clean a basement.

Saundra, you can come over for a summer dinner in your Capri Pants at our house any time.
