Just voted. Only 5 votes so far, all for term limits.

BEYOND corruption, serial career criminal incumbents have used their elected offices to set up a privileged caste - a new aristocracy.

This is illustrated no better than their most recent attempt to set up a national health care program 80% of Americans don't want, a health care program which will result in reduced care for senior citizens, the disabled, and other target groups, WHILE INSULATING THEMSELVES from the consequences of such a program by being covered by their own special health benefits.

These serial career criminals need to be removed from office. There should be a two term limit in the House, a single term limit in the Senate, MINIMAL PAY, NO PENSIONS, and the same Medicare or Medicaid benefits us commoners will be getting.

Its time to clean out the House of Lords - each and every one of them regardless of political party.

GRIP = GET RID OF INCUMBENT POLITICIANS!!!!!!

I would be happy with a 5 term limit in the house and a 2 term limit in the Senate with a 14 year max for senators.

There are some constitutional issues that apparently makes enacting congressional term limits impossible,

A five term limit in the House gives them 10 years sucking off the public tit. Two terms in the Senate gives them 12 years.

The longer these s.o.b.s sit in office, the more perks they create for themselves to set them off from the general class of citizens.

They are serial criminals.

A lot of Americans resent civil service workers. Elected officials are actually worse. Once in office, they use their position to generate favors - with taxpayer dollars - to help keep them there in future elections. It is generally virtually impossible to remove these creatures. The party apparatus becomes in debted to them and that gives them a leg up in the primaries.

LOOK at Grassely, Hatch, Kennedy, Spector, Murtha, etc.

Elected office was NEVER intended by the Founding Fathers to be a career position. It was meant to be a limited term of voluntary public service.

Yet we have the Nancy Pelosis, Harry Reids, John Kerrys, etc acting like they OWN those seats.

Exactly Right. The original intention was for these politicians to pass the laws that they would then go home to live under. It was not intended to be a career nor to be able to vote in a manner to keep themselves in office.

I have no doubt that opponents of the 22md Amendment said the same thing.

In order to impose congressional term-limits you would have to amend the Constitution.

Exactly. The Founders were extraordinarily wise, but they could not foresee an America where Ted Kennedy and Robert Byrd would have lifetime Senate seats and live like Oriental potentates on the public dole.

Constitution???? What in the heck is that? We haven’t followed that thing closely in the last 100 years. See FDR.

There were term limits ... and if people go back through history they will also find that the senate was an appointed body, not directly elected by the electorate. (17th ammendment, early 1900’s) Not such a bad idea with 3 consecutive two year terms and out congress.

I agree with an earlier poster ... the deadline on this ENTIRE bunch should be no later than tomorrow. Lock and load em all. They are all pretty much worthless in my view. Gasbags, morons and ......... I’ll let you fill in the following blanks before I get banned.
