Here is video of CNN's Don Lemon talking to several fellow Cambridge, Massachusetts police officers of Sgt. James Crowley, the officer who arrested Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. last week.
All three officers he spoke with were 100% supportive of Crowley, saying what he did had no racial motivation. One female fellow officer said she was "appalled" at what President Obama did in saying the police "acted stupidly" in arresting Gates. In fact, she went on to say about Obama: "I supported him. I voted for him. I will not again." The officer rightly said that Obama should have simply said that Gates "is my friend. I don't have all the facts. So I'm not going to comment." . . . . . Thanks for posting this! It burns me up inside to see this good man be given any bad treatment by the black community, by his president, and any other person in America. But what burns me up even more, is for this president to USE this officer for a TEACHING MOMENT that he and Gates should be giving THEMSELVES...is as disrespectful as you can get to Sgt Crowley. I hate that he will go to the oval office under THESE conditions. Shameful.
