IIRC Watson, you are from Canada. At least you were last time we spoke about your Mormon faith. When did you move to Texas?

Boy am I glad to see you. Believe it or not, it is an evangelical “p-marlowe” that is now causing most of the ruckus.

IMO, to believe in Mormonism one must be very gullible or have an emotional investment in their family, or be prideful enough to believe someone can earn Celestial reward by works. I will be gracious and opine that these fine Mormon freepers have a deep and abiding love for their families. Mormonism promises “family forever” and so many members cling to the forever promise.

If they believe in Christ as they suggest, then why do they need the saving ordinances of Mormonism. Why do they have “faith” in their Church. Is it so they can perform necessary tasks by those with “proper authority” in order to gain exaltation to future godhood? Yeah - that’s not really “rational.” But as P-Marlowe pointed out, personal beliefs are often not rational (although I think Christianity is entirely rational)

Deep cell troll Edward Watson through 116 posts on his intentionally controversial thread has failed to reply in a single instance. The (alleged) 2001 freeper has several old timers in pissing contests over various dimensions of (alleged) his posted character. Well done troll, be sure to send your signup date hack to all your friends.

That is because God opened your eyes.:-) As he did mine. It makes PERFECT sense... Now.

But to someone who is lost, the gospel is irrational nonsense. As it was to me before God dragged me kicking and screaming to the foot of the cross.

I once was blind, but now I see.

I’m surprised you frame Cambridge in such uncomplimentary terms. Libertarians are “librals”, afterall.

It is common courtesy to ping a freeper when your post is about them.

That being said, I think colorcountry can vouch for my credentials as a vocal critic of Mormonism. I just don't think your comments were either productive, necessary or germaine to the discussion.

I disagree, they were germaine. We are going in circles here. Good night, and may God Bless. The discussion with you is ended.

And yea verily, after Chiyume Fukino destroyed the One Barack Obama’s long-form vault birth certificate, the Angel Moroni appeared to Obama and instructed him not to rewrite the entire birth certificate, but to only write the Certification of Live Birth instead...

The COLB would be similar to the Birth Certificate, but there might be a few small differences....

But it would still be good enough for the true believers....

I moved to Houston a couple of years ago and moved back to Vancouver Canada last Feb. The wife and kids were bugging me like crazy to return. The contrast is incredible. Vancouver is just spectacular. I urge you to visit this gorgeous city someday if you still haven’t had a chance.

I’ve always wanted to visit Canada - haven’t had the opportunity so far.

So are you a dual citizen? Citizen of US or Citizen of Canada? Where were you born (just so we can get a handle on where you’re coming from regarding the birth certificate issue)?

COLB is fake

So much has gone on that the acronyms mean nothing any more. There is the original, long-form birth certificate, an there is the abstract from "vital records" called the certification of live birth. The abstract appeared online last year prior to the election, and it was id'd on that same link as an official "abstract." In other words, it is a condensed version.

Simple question: Do you acknowledge that the long form has NOT yet been released?

But now he has his campaign worker Holder sending in the U. S. attorneys so he can spend your money doing it.

Uh oh, someone’s fishing ;^)

Why would MY citizenship be relevant to my plea for conservatives to desist painting the entire movement into the lunatic fringe corner?

Americans created the best society the world has ever known. Tragically, this nation is rapidly being destroyed by the liberals and the only way for it to be saved is for conservatives to band together and push back, using passion and reason, to convince others of the rightness of our cause.

The entire birther movement is FATAL to the conservative cause - and the vast majority of honest people can see that. Why? Because it is irrational and demands a standard that no one can satisfy.

First it was the birth certificate. Now it’s Obama’s college records, travels, papers, articles, sponsors, etc., etc., etc., as if they have anything to do with invalidating the electoral will of the majority of Americans last November. Only a time machine will do that.

The American train is plunging off a cliff but instead of fighting like hell to stop the coming catastrophe, by trying to slow it down or put it in reverse; birthers are obsessed with how the man up front got there.

Conservatives should just face facts - in a democracy majority rules, and the majority decided to vote for a man whose past was carefully hidden from view by very powerful men and the leftist media. Conservatives should also face the fact that the masses are stupid and are easily led by bias, the media, and master manipulators.

Democracy, while the best form of government there is due to representing the will of the people, simply cannot last. Every instance throughout history inevitably collapsed due to people using their votes to raid the treasury instead of using their own sweat to support themselves.

I pray that this is not the end and we can pull back in time ...

Based on the US Constitution, is a president ethically (if not legally) bound to demonstrate that he meets the qualifications listed in that Constitution on which his oath of office is based?

The Lord loves wonderous variety. Some can worry about Republicans coming up with an actual plan. Others can worry about the President’s lack of transparency on matters that an average person would deem mundane.

He’s not being asked for a kidney, or his credit card number, or even his SSN. Just his long form BC.

Frankly, I’m worried about all of it. I think that some conservatives worrying about what other conservatives are worrying about is a waste of energy.

My biggest worry is that there is no Republican party. There’s just Politicians, and its very difficult to tell one from the other. Toomey and Bond are just the latest examples in the last 48 hours. In the last 96 there was Graham letting Sotomayer out of committee.

So tell you what: you worry about what you want, and let other conservatives worry about what they want, and don’t worry about the difference.
