“Chicago getting more than a ‘good wash’”

Although I agree Chicago could use a ‘good wash’ as you’ve described, the odds of the gulf doing it are pretty steep (pun intended). We’re several hundred feet above sea level here (583ft to be exact).

If anything it would seriously drain the lakes and probably right past/through my house as I live on the Illinois river about 60 miles downstream of the city.

Sorry, I didn’t explain very clearly.

Supposedly,

the quake—or series of quakes, will be such a huge jolt—that the Great Lake (Superior?) North of Chicago will slosh it’s banks horrifically like a St Bernard jumping in an over-full bathtub—or some such.
