The below blog posting is actually a story that broke last year but never got much media attention, or at least, nowhere near the attention that it should have received.
Oregon has Universal Health Care and this case offers a preview of what we can expect nationally if Obamacare passes:
A Preview Of Universal Health Care: Oregon Woman Denied Medicine, Offered Assisted Suicide Instead

1. A duty to die if the government won't provide care.
2. Rationing. This story is about the rationing of health care.
If I remember correctly, this woman had terminal cancer, was going to die no matter what, and this expensive treatment might have given her another few months. I think instead of complaining about how the “gubmint” failed to pay for something that is not even it’s obligation, they should have sought private donations or held a fundraiser.
Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, brother of Rahm Emanuel, the President's Chief of Staff, is one of the President's Advisors on Health Care. This is taken from Gates of Vienna.blogspot.com/2009/08. Dr. Emanuel's referenced essay was published in the Hastings Center Report (Nov-Dec 1996).
“Im still wondering why Emmanuels essay was published in The Lancet (quick registration required, but worth it). Would no American medical journal take this plan? Thats a possible reason, because what Dr. Emmanuel proposes is a calculus of quality of life years on which to base medical care decisions for individual citizens. The man is no fool: he allocates the majority of health care to the young - ages fifteen to forty - and the healthy. They dont require any care to speak of, thus presenting huge savings from the get-go.
Infants and old people, the chronically ill, or those victims of accidents who will require lengthy rehabilitation? They can all crawl to the back of the bus and wait their turn, provided there are any leftovers. God forbid you would choose to bear your handicapped child and then let it live. The quality of life years for your kid will be, as Emmanuel euphemizes, attenuated.
(Pegita says that the chart does not copy for me ... if someone else can insert, please do. Starting at age Zero, the chart climbs and peaks at age 25 and remains constant to age 30, then sharply declines to age 60, where it continues to decline through age 70. And then no more ... End of what Pegita says).
This chart from his essay makes it crystal clear: up until age fifteen or so, youre a drain on the public purse. By the same calculus, once past your fortieth birthday, your sell-by date is questionable. Move to the back of the health care bus. Notice that the eighty year-olds don't even appear there at all.”
Pegita says ... Be afraid ... Be very afraid. Job 12:10 ~ “In His hand is the life of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.” Galatians 6:7 ~ “Be not deceived, God is not mocked, for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
This is a brief summary from the DeathCare Bill:
"Just received a three-page printout from worldmag.com that highlights provisions in the 1,017 page healthcare bill. To quote:
..The government will audit your books if you self-insure. The newly created Commissioner will submit a report to the government that includes "any recommendation the Commissioner deems appropriate to ensure that the law DOES NOT PROVIDE incentives for small and mid-size employers to self-insure." (21.23-23.3)
This is just one of 17 provisions that WORLD has summarized and posted to its website, www.worldmag.com, found under Washington's Prescription, The Editors, Healthcare.
Excellent material for information and hand-out. This is an absolute outrage.
Others: The government will define your "health benefits" ... will ration your care ... will establish and administer a public health insurance program ... will define how doctors manage their time ... will tax employers for not providing healthcare ... will tax individuals unless you are a foreign resident ... will order you to get end-of-life counseling and show proof ... will limit your hospital readmissions by penalizing hospitals ... will restrict coverage of special needs patients ... will not let you sue over coverage limits and costs decisions ... will mandate what physicians make ... will have access to your bank accounts ... will not call the fees it imposes taxes ... will issue you a health ID card ... will enlist or create outreach programs like ACORN to sign-up individuals in government-run plan; will create a new bureaucracy to include phone healthcare. References with page numbers and line items are given each provision.
