Yes,you right,
but, the world knows that America is suppose to be the one that champions human rights.
The world knows that we have a Constitution that gives us these rights, and if the world sees our government cracking down on American citizens for just expressing their US Constitution rights, they will Condemn us for being hypocrites...
I am afraid, that after the Nov 4 2008 election, that we are well passed the thresh hold and well into a US Constitutional crises.
I guess the next label of attack by the MSM and Liberals, and Obama is that we are not really American citizens, or deny our citizenship..... opps, wait, I spoke to soon, they are already calling us " UN - AMERICAN " and in affect, they denied my US Citizenship, and US Citizen rights...

I agree that we have passed the threshold and are well into a constitutional crisis. Cracking down on Americans though won't be as easy as running over some student protesters with tanks. There are a lot of people just waiting for a spark and the conflagration won't be pretty.

The world knows that we have a Constitution that gives us these rights..

 My heart hurts a little bit each time I read or hear a statement like this, and especially in a conservative forum.

We are BORN with our rights! The constititution is in place to prevent the government from infringing on those rights.

If we don't understand that one simple basic fact, then how can we prevail? It's seems that for some, deep in their core, that fact has been snuffed out.

Submit to "authority" all you like. There are many people that believe in the rights guaranteed by the constitution that will not submit. Or in the words of a founding father that wasn't that big on submission...

Where does the Bible say that you are to treat your rights as worthless? Or do you forget the condemnation Esau received for selling his birth-right for a meal? Do you not remember that God said to Noah, after the flood, that should a man shed man’s blood then his blood should be shed by man because man is created in God’s image? (That is, capital punishment for murder.)

Also, what about the American ideal of a government ‘By the People’? Or do you consider yourself not of ‘the People’?

Micha 6:8 says that to DO Justly is what God requires of man; where is the justice in letting a corrupt elite conspire to rob, plunder, and do violence against any who get in their way?

Remember the book of Esther: where the political elite took it into their hands to make a law legalizing the killing of the jews? Remember how the queen’s maneuvering got another law passed; one which allowed the jews to gather together, armed, and defend themselves? Tell me what would have happened if they hadn’t taken advantage of that ability to defend themselves saying “it is legal that they should kill us; we should submit to authority!”?

The truth is that the Founding Fathers recognized that Government was not friendly to the people, and ensured the recognition of God given rights: hence, the Bill of Rights.
Amendment 2 states: “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state; the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”

This was to ensure a free state, is says so itself, and the military oath is not to the president, the congress, or the USSC, but to the Constitution. In other words, they recognized the very real danger of a corrupt government; and a corrupt government is an anathema to the free state they sought to create.

I do not think God would also approve of people just sitting around during Nazi German during WWII who knew of the atrocities that were going on in the Jewish ghettos, Nazi concentration camps and thought, " well, the Bible says we must summit to the governing authorities " ....
God see's a life more valuable to him than some government ...
For God, the killing of the jews in WWII Germany was more of a crime in his eyes then people rebelling against that very government that condoned killing jews and were killing jews.

Well said and well documented. I think I just overreacted to the cumulative effect of all the talk lately about unrest. I think our efforts should be focused on making the 2010 mid term elections a game changer.
