Obama's getting desperate. Now he's calling out another one of his 60's radical "Big Dogs", aka "God's Democrat", Jim Wallis.
I just heard from him yesterday morning.
I'm on that Big Dog's mailing list - (so that I can keep track of what he's up to at all times without having to go to his left-wing "Sojourners" web site) - and just received this urgent message from him yesterday morning.
I've copied and pasted his message to me for you below, but first --- for those who aren't familiar with this who this LONG-TIME radical left-wing activist is, I want to give you some background on him.
PS: Most of you recognize the phrase, "We are the ones we have been waiting for" and think it is original with Obama because he used it throughout his campaign.
Not so. He plagiarized it from Jim Wallis. -- See "Background" below:
<> BEGIN BACKGROUND ON WALLIS:
IT TAKES A CERTAIN AMOUNT of chutzpah to write a book called God's Politics. But you have only to read a few pages of Jim Wallis's [book] by that name to discover that it isn't actually about the politics of an all-knowing, all-seeing, all-powerful deity at all. Instead, it's 384 pages of Jim's politics, and Jim (with a couple of notable exceptions) is a pretty average, down-the-line leftist ... [.....] MAINLY, THOUGH, what Wallis is up to these days is building his "movement for spiritual and social change" and arguing for optimism over cynicism. Previous theological agonies dispelled, Wallis fills his book with chatty anecdotes from his speaking tours, his time teaching at Harvard, his appearances on TV and talk radio, his travels at home and abroad.
He closes the book with the self-congratulatory (and possibility heretical) declaration: "we are the ones we have been waiting for."

NOW --- HERE'S HIS URGENT MESSAGE TO ME YESTERDAY MORNING:
Date: Wed, 12 Aug 2009 13:27:47 GMT From: "Jim Wallis" SojoMail@sojo.net To: Matchett Subject: URGENT: Jim Wallis on Health Care
Dear Matchett,
I am setting aside the formal columns, blogs, and interviews that are typical of my weekly communications and choosing instead to send you a personal and heartfelt letter.
As a nation, we are engaged in making decisions about our health care that will impact our families and communities for generations to come.
And I must personally share with you that Ive had enough of the misinformation and, frankly, misleading statements coming from those who oppose the transformation of a health system that currently renders the best health care to the wealthiest, depletes the savings of solidly middle-class Americans, and leaves 46 million people with no health-care coverage at all.
We dont have to fall victim to the naysayers those seeking to prop up the status quo and sustain the profits of the massive insurance corporations.
Business as usual is not what were about. Its not what change is about. Its certainly not what people of good will from all faiths, who embrace the Golden Rule and seek the common ground of justice and fairness, are about.
During the last big national debate on health-care reform in the early 1990s, the religious community mostly stayed out of the discussion. Not this time.
A friend of mine recently traveled across several states in the U.S. visiting friends on summer vacation. He told me that, everywhere he went, people asked him to read e-mails theyd received. These e-mails had no author and no citations to support the misleading statements about health-care reform they contained including the false claim that, if health-care reform passed, it would force families to see doctors and receive care dictated by a government panel. This is not true.
At a recent meeting of leading faith groups in Washington, D.C., a leader of a large, national organization said they were receiving calls asking if the elderly would be simply left to die if health-care reform passed. The answer is NO.
These egregious and false accusations are being created for only one purpose: to manipulate and instill fear in American citizens.
This must stop. We are the ones who can stop it. Together, speaking out, acting out, and joining as one on a mission, we can push back the clouds of misinformation and fear-mongering, and allow the light of truth shine through.
Today, right now, lets join together making the health-care debate factual, worthy of our families and communities. Lets put the special interests on notice that we want real health-care reform, not misinformation and fear-mongering.
Sojourners has created a rapid response Web site where you will find what you need to fight for the truth: Sojourners' Health Care Reform Resources.
At this Web site I want you to:
SIGN Sojourners Health-Care Creed and let Congress know you stand for values-based reform.
SHARE Sojourners Guide to the Health-Care Reform Debate with your church and neighbors.
DISTRIBUTE Sojourners two-page flyer with health-care reform facts and values at your small group or Bible study.
USE the messages and talking points that Sojourners has created in your discussions with others.
CALL your Members of Congress today, toll-free, at #1-866-279-5474 and ask them to vote for health-care reform.
We must act.
We must speak out in our communities, schools, and workplaces. If we all take part, then our voices will join thousands of others across the nation. Other things you can do include writing a letter to the editor of your local newspaper supporting health-care reform.
I pledge to you that I will do my part by keeping you updated on whats happening here in Washington, D.C. Be prepared to receive action requests and notifications of conference calls that you should join.
Together, imagine the thousands of faithful voices speaking out, in unison with all joining in.
Together, we can bring about the most sweeping change to our health-care system in history.
Together, passing health-care reform for our families is what people of good will from all faiths, who embrace the Golden Rule and seek the common ground of justice and fairness, can do. Join me.
Together on mission,
Jim

Page 425:
On Page 425 of this Health Care Bill, the Federal Government will require EVERYONE who is on Social Security (this will include all senior citizens and SSI people) to a MANDATORY counseling session every 5 years in which the counselor will explain to the person why and how to choose one of various ways to end his/her suffering (and his/her life). Yes, they are going to push SUICIDE to cut Medicare spending! Health care will be denied based on age. 500 billion dollars will be cut from the senior citizen healthcare budget. The only way for that to happen is to drastically cut health care. The oldest and the sickest will be cut first. Paying for your own care will not be an option
He’s a heretic and I’d wager God’s not gonna like his hubris overmuch.
