Here is video of Texas Rep. Pete Sessions yesterday explaining the differences between Medicare and the "Public Option" Democrats have been pushing forward in their Health Care Plan.
Host Andrea Mitchell asked Sessions if Medicare is "socialism." Sessions said Medicare is a program that is government-run, but reminded Mitchell that people have paid into the Social Security system throughout their working life and receive benefits in return. He did say Medicare is bankrupt, but that it is not the same as the "Public Option" Democrats are pushing.
Sessions pointed out the Obama Plan would take $500 Billion out of Medicare to fund the new "Public Option" Plan. . . . (Watch Video)

"WHAT DO YOU THINK MEDICARE IS??? THAT'S GOV'T HEALTHCARE YOU IDIOT!"
The good thing about this debate, is that it is also highlighting the problems that Medicare and Medicaid has.
From what I’ve heard so far, it sounds like they just changed the name from Nationalized Health Care to Co Op health care, same thing, different name. In other words, you can take a pig, dress it up, put lipstick on it, but, a pig is still a pig.
All I know is that medicare extracts money from every single paycheck of mine and I would hope at the end of my life there would be some benefit from all those payments coming my way. I certainly don’t want to fund this Public Option fiasco by depleting Medicare. When my mother was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer at age 85 - Medicare kicked in and paid for nearly all her hospice care...including some radiation therapy which extended her life a month or so. That was a blessing. It wasn’t as much care as she needed - but it was enough to make is manageable for the family.
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Albert Einstein
I have an Aetna plan that I got because I enrolled in Medicare. It’s reasonable as to cost but only available because I’m on Medicare. It is this policy type that I understand the Obamacare plan eliminates as a cost saving because the private insurers like Aetna make money on them.
I like my plan and don’t want to lose it. Why isn’t this a part of the private option going forward? If Aetna can’t do this in the future, what can they do and make money?
To me, it’s beginning to look like Obama’s healthcare plan is just cover for the fact that medicare is bankrupt, and he wants to cut the benefits, but he can’t do it unless he has a subterfuge to distract attention from what he is doing.
Ya’ know, how everything is some kind of “code word” these days, like being against National Healthcare is code for racist or Nazi, or whatever the DNC Buzzword of the day is. Plainly and Simply: “Public Option” is code for “Welfare”.
