On a rainy day last week in Long Branch, NJ, Bob Dylan, wearing a hood, was peering into a for-sale home when a neighbor called the police fearing he might be a burglar. Two young officers arrived on the scene and neither of them knew who Bob Dylan was. They asked for I.D. - he had none but explained he was a musician on tour with John Mellencamp and they were set to play at a nearby stadium in Lakewood. Without fuss or anger, Mr. Dylan was escorted back to his tour bus where he produced I.D.

Well, the most terrifying aspect of this story is that Dylan is touring with John “Cougar” Mellancramp.
Agreed.
Hah! I was at that show! I got there too late for Willie Nelson.
It started late enough so that Bob could get the blue plate special and ended early enough so he could make his 11:00 bedtime...
Yeah, for ID’ing himself as a musician on tour with Cougar, he ought to be checked out.
Dylan knew he looked suspicious, and acted appropriately in clearing up the matter. And the cops actually were quite professional, seeing as how he didn’t have any ID and they didn’t recognize him, by driving him over to his hotel and allowing him to verify himself.
But professional, cautious, courteous cops, and law-abiding left-wing idols do not an attractive MSM story make.
So,

Bumping the song, it’s great!
Should be played to a joint session of Congress. “Republicans suck too”, yep! Every damned one of them better wake up and realize “it’s time they started changin’”.
Bob Dylan was once asked why he no longer wrote protest songs; he replied that it was hard to be an angry millionaire.
Yeah Dylan sounds like reasonable guy. I wouldn’t recognize him either these days. He looks like a saddlebag.
“Well, the most terrifying aspect of this story is that Dylan is touring with John Cougar Mellancramp...”
And even WORSE, he seemed to be name-dropping MELLENCAMP because they didn’t recognize him...I say these two idiots are going to be called Dylan by the rest of their friends and everyone on the force for the rest of their lives...
“Bob Dylan was once asked why he no longer wrote protest songs; he replied that it was hard to be an angry millionaire.”
How about the interview when they asked him how he would like to be remembered?
“As a pretty good song and dance man...”
Long ago I was a long-haired California college student with a summer job during the night shift in a small Texas town.
At 3AM one morning, I was bored after work, and found the town cop, all six-foot, Stetsoned, mirrored-sunglassed, cowboy-booted, hog-legged pistoled of him, driving up to me, getting out of his cruiser, and politely enquired what, exactly, I was doing in the middle of the town's Chevy dealership lot.
I explained about my working hours and boredom, and he nodded and checked my ID. And then he asked me if I knew what I looked like.
Believe it or not, it was the first time I had actually considered the subject.
He told me to get my butt home.
I did.
I recognize the name “Bob Dylan”, but if I saw him on the street, I wouldn’t know him from Adam.
