Obama's Summer of Discontent

So we are to have a French health-care system without a French tradition of political protest. It is odd that American liberalism, in a veritable state of insurrection during the Bush presidency, now seeks political quiescence. These "townhallers" who have come forth to challenge ObamaCare have been labeled "evil-mongers" (Harry Reid), "un-American" (Nancy Pelosi), agitators and rowdies and worse.

A political class, and a media elite, that glamorized

Oh Yeh..BOZerO is really all busted up with discontent isn’t he? Frollicking on Martha’s grapefields and beaches plus hitting the fairlawns for tee time not exactly the doldrums
for poor Big O’s summer of supposed discontent. All the laid off, unemployed workers are just having a blast while Zero is lamenting... fahgedaboutit!

Once again, the belief in that American exception that set this nation apart from other lands is re-emerging. Health care is the tip of the iceberg. Beneath it is an unease with the way the verdict of the 2008 election was read by those who prevailed.

It remains to be seen. The picture that is emerging is still rather muddy, but is becoming more clear as more Americans awake from their hero worship to realize that they have been worshipping a fraud.

Zero may, at some point, realize that he has lost the HC debate and back away from it. However, backing away and accepting less than 100% still means he could get 75% of what he wants! Given the sleazy, slimy way that our politicians operate with their shadowy back room deals, we can't afford to let our guard down for an instant because these slimeballs will pass the remainder of the DeathCare package when they think we aren't looking.

With our corrupt politicians and the corrupt shadow system in which they operate, we can't afford to look away or be distracted for an instant. They won't accept anything less than the whole DeathCare bill in its current form, and they'll continue trying to distract us any way they can!!! Keep the pressure on until long after this dreck bill, and all the others, have long since drawn their last gasp!!! Perhaps then and ONLY then can we declare a wary "cease fire" in this battle; but the war will continue unabated as new and sleazier bills are introduced by the worst Congress in at least 100 years!!!

This was an excellent article, thanks for posting it. The writing is lovely. If you read the comments posted at the WSJ page, many use the word eloquent, which it really is.

Not to go all po-mo, but the eloquence of the writing very well deconstructs Obama’s facade, which was all smooth and stuff.

You know what I mean!
