Also, please do not give up the fight on Obamacare now that Ted Kennedy's dead. The libs are exploiting his death as another "Wellstone Moment" and are trying to use the guy before he's even room temperature, to say pass obamacare for Teddy. Don't fall for this crap.
If they're going to exploit him for an avenue to get socialist healthcare, perhaps maybe we should use Ted Kennedy as an opportunity for TERM LIMITS on senators and representatives. 47 years in a seat? Gimme a break. If it's good enough for a president to serve two terms, it's good enough for our reps and senators too.
Keep hitting them hard on healthcare. DOn't give up, don't let them get this phony Kennedy momentum to shift the issue off the REAL ISSUES and turn it into some HOMAGE to the most liberal guy in the senate croaking and we now have to somehow honor a fat murdering womanizing windbag by screwing the country with DMV/IRS-style healthcare that would have WRITTEN OFF Ted Kennedy because he'd have been TOO OLD to justify spending millions on and experimental care for an old guy with terminal cancer. Nope, never forget under Obamacare, Kennedy would have gotten the pain pills and told to go sit in the corner and die for the rest of us.

Show them the real legacy of what Ted's done. He's screwed us on healthcare over the years - he tried to 'reform' things since 1973, only later to 'reform' his reform because it never worked out. He screwed us all on immigration a number of times. Before Roe, supposedly pro life. After Roe, staunch abortion defender. In the course of his life Ted Kennedy directly murdered one person, and indirectly, millions. Every illegal alien that murders an American, Ted Kennedy is partially responsible for. Every abortion that occurs, Ted Kennedy is partially responsible for.
The “Wellstone Moment” resulted in a republican being elected to the Senate in his place.

Point is, the left uses these moments to try to get things pushed through by exploiting their own’s tradgedies, and trying to use that to prey on peoples’ feelings to get something crammed through totally on EMOTION in a real short period of time.

It is clear that John McCain lost in 2008 because of John McCain. It would be refreshing to get a conservative in that seat.
My point is that attaching Teddy’s name to it will backfire on ‘em.
Perhaps, but in this instance they have stronger linkage between the exploited icon (dead ted kennedy) and the issue they want (healthcare). Ted’s been screwing up healthcare since 1965. They can use that. He’s a kennedy - they will use that. He couldn’t get this last one passed before dying. They will use that. He’s a lot more well known nationally that Wellstone. They will use that.
About it backfiring on them they never think that way. The left has some magical fairy tale camelot crush on all things Kennedy. They say the name like it’s the special magic word or mantra.
Just a bump, and also to let people know the next zero bill will feature Henry Waxman, who is apparently going to double-cross Big Pharma. They signed onto ObamaCare after getting assurances that their givebacks would amount to no more than $80 billion over 10 years and that the federal government would not try to bargain for lower pricing using its advantage through Medicare. Henry Waxman plans to renege on just about every aspect of that agreement.
