Virtual Graduation Celebration! FReeper kids are heroes!
Vanity ^ | August 28, 2009 | Tax-chick

Posted on 08/28/2009 4:48:11 AM PDT by Tax-chick

Today, my daughter, FReeper Anoreth (since 11/29/03) graduates from Coast Guard Basic Training.

We're also celebrating "The Boy," son of FReeper AnAmericanMother, who is graduating today from Marine Corps Basic.

And "ForgotenKnight," grandson of Monkey Face, recently deployed with a Stryker unit to Afghanistan.

Other FReepers with children (grandchildren, nieces and nephews, etc.) in the military, please join us in celebrating all our family members who are serving our country in the military.

Went well. Nobody did a right face instead of a left face and screwed up, which is what we were all afraid of. Some people are easily distracted..plus one guy didn’t speak English that well. Had lots of fun, only got a concussion once. Next stop is my new cutter.

I’ll call again later tonight when the kids are in bed. I can probably iron my formerly inspection-ready uniforms and talk at the same time. Some people can drive and talk, so ironing shouldn’t be any problem.

You’re going to iron? Wow, can I send Bill, Tom (and your Dad) to Basic starting Monday?

Try around 9:00. Where are you staying tonight?

I used to hit my head a lot, too.

“Gravol” must be the Canadian version of Dramamine.

Just one, please.

Also, I still haven't heard from the US Embassy, but judging by the grief they give us at the border, I'm pretty sure I'm not allowed to ship garlic. Sorry. :-(

I fell off something on the obstacle course. I don’t remember actually hitting my head..one of the Petty Officers that was running it says I did. I believe him. I had a bad headache for a couple days.

. Some people can drive and talk, so ironing shouldn’t be any problem.

Just pull the ironing board over to the right, and park it. You should be fine. ;-)

Yes, it does.

Mind your head on the boat, petunia!

BTW, what’s your official rank, now that you’re no longer “Seaman Recruit”?

I usually make bracelets for women at 7-1/2” and for guys at 8-1/2” unless there is a special order. All I really need to know is if the bracelets are for guys or gals.
