If you're a Texan, and you favor secession, then I advise that you not recite the pledge of allegiance, because if that is your state of mind, then you are pledging a lie:

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

If the flag no longer represents a republic, or the Republic isn't the items listed in the pledge, then the whole thing is null and void anyway.

No, what I pledge that allegiance to is a Republic represented by the flag, a Republic that is one nation with 50 States that provides liberty and justice to all.

That is not Barack Obama’s United States of America, not by any measure.

"... United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands...

What if the federal government goes to such lengths that we are no longer a republic?

The Republic which the United States Flag stands for doesn't exist any more.
A democracy has subsumed it under false pretensions.
If you don't believe me then just ask almost any politician and they'll tell you directly, and unflinchingly, that America is a democracy.

If the dimrats actually followed the Constitution, then there wouldn’t be talk of seccesion. As for the plege being a lie, it would be if obama gets his way because the liberty and justice thing would be a thing of the past. He is acting more and more like a ruler than the President.

I would fight against secession as well.

Texas pledge: Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one state under God, one and indivisible.

I have suspended my pledging of allegiance to the cotton/rayon banner (made in China) that represents the fascist dictatorship of Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Fwank, Schoooooooooooooomah, and all of the rest of these Leftist sh*ts. When over 40% of the US Senate is comprised of a communist group that represents less than 2% of the American population, its time to look for a more sane government in a safer place. I do not live to serve these collectivist pigs who live like princes while Americans wallow...

I omit “indivisible” when reciting the pledge to the US Flag.

I also recite the Texas Pledge of Allegiance in full.
