Catholics generally want communications between themselves and their confessor to remain private. Yet, CNN released excerpts from the recent letter Senator Kennedy sent through the President to the Holy Father. The public release of this letter highlighted the senators accomplishments considered pillar liberal causes. Yet, the letter failed to mention the countless abortions, Mary Jo Kopechnes homicide and the adulteries that this senator caused or enabled. To reach this far, the White House appears nothing less than a desperate the further their agenda. Shameful!
CNN released the letter when the priest read it at the graveside service last night. It was Kennedy’s wish to have it read to the public.
Oh by the way does anybody know whether Vicki, the second wife obtained an annullment on her previous marraige?
Disgusting!
If the Pope, during the reign of Henry VIII, had been so tolerant, we would never have had a Church of England.
This same letter or portions of it were read by the Catholic Priest/Bishop who officiated over the internment service. It was highly political and shouldn’t have been allowed by the Church. Likewise, obama’s eulogy at the Mission Hills Mass was totally inappropriate and carried political overtones. Outrageous.
Just went to CNN and read the excerpts they had posted. Looks like he was trying to rewrite his own history before he died.
I have spent the last 20+ hours trying my best to calm my CATHOLIC wife down. This precious woman is Very upset that first the supposedly private letter to the Pope was made public and second that no where did he express any remorse.
She said if this was supposed to be a request for forgiveness he absolutely booted it.
As a Protestant I will not tell the Catholic Church how to operated. But as a Christian, I will say about those persons
in Massachusetts who continued to keep him in office “Father forgive them they no not what they do”.
Yes, but if the Pope Julius II and Pope Clement VII been so “tolerant” we would not only not have ha a Church of England, we would also not have had a Catholic Church.
He did admit he hadn’t been a perfect person, but he also bragged about his political stances (as if the pope would recognize them as in harmony with Catholic social teachings). It all reminded me of the Pharisee’s prayer in Luke 18.11-12. At least he didn’t claim that he fasted twice a week.
Written about 45 days ago......this gliblastoma brain tumor victim must have penned or dictated this letter upon return and participation in a two day sailing event. He would have done it earlier but was preparing for a triathalon. His case will be studied for many, many years as he escaped the physical and mental ravages that this type of cancer always brings.
He was a narcissistic sociopath right up until the end.
