It is not just the career safe seat members of Congress and the Senate who are vulnerable to getting caught up in the arrogance and elitism of power. Relative back bencher Baron Hill from Indiana's 9th District might well have surged into the lead in the contest to see which member of congress had the most out of touch and arrogant attitude during the town hall meetings.
You have to watch this video to believe it. It starts right after he has announced that there will be no videos allowed and goes into question and answer. The first question is from a school student trying to fulfill a class assignment.
It is only 1:11 in length. (snip)
Some highlights:
"This is my town hall meeting -- and I set the rules."
"Let me repeat that one more time -- this is MY town hall meeting (snip) and you're not gonna tell me how to run my congressional office..."
American citizens really, really donot like being talked down to.
This will hit him hard.
His challenger should run a commercial on this townhall.
I think, however, his unfettered and unpolished attitude is a pretty good example of the feelings that most politicians harbor these days.
What a jerk.
I’d say our Congresscritter, Carol Che-Porter is giving this asshat a run for his money. As in she won’t do town hall meetings, then she does two in federal offices which hold less than 100 “for security reasons”, and “raffles” off who can ask questions, with anyone who asks a question without a ticket being escorted out while she makes smartass comments towards them.
LOL! Baron Hill got that correct......
I’m so glad Sue Myrick is my rep.
What else would expect from a guy named Baron?
Like so many other b_st_rds in Congress — D and R —
he thinks he’s royalty.
Lucky you. I have David f-ing Price.
