My company is a Hyundai supplier.
We have plants in Korea.

Our CEO, who runs a $1 billion+ company, bought TWO of the Genesis sedans (one for his hot young girlfriend). He could EASILY own any $100K car out there, but picked this as a nod to our customer.

He’ll let anyone in the company drive it and I have.
Very nice car.
Not quite a Lexus, but you’re paying 40% less for comparable features.

Ya’ know, I love cars. I’m not really attached to any single brand, or brands, anymore. I just love cars.

The two things I especially love is when a manufacturer dares to even attempt to excite my passion. That’s hot, and I dig it. And, when a car just “works as advertised”.

Any manufacture, with few exceptions, that can do those two things, has my attention. Hyundai certainly does.

My wife, a German immigrant, would only drive a Mercedes or a Toyota when we married. But she took some chances and had a Mitsubishi (turbo), a Chevy Barretta, and a Honda Civic. She liked none of them.

Then, after moving to the Atlanta area and needing to commute over a hundred miles a day, she bought a Hyundai Accent. Yeah, it was a tinny little crap bucket. But, it got great mpg and it didn’t break. After about 85k on that, she traded in for an Elantra, it was ok, she just didn’t like sitting so low and the “feel”, so after about 55k she traded that in for a Santa Fe. Man, did she love that car. 136k later, she traded it in for a sweet, really sweet, deal on an XG350L. It’s got 107k on it now, and she plans on keeping it for about another year, it’s that nice. The one thing in common with all of her cars is, none have ever been in the shop, except to do some work that was promised on the 350 (it had sat on the lot for over a year).

Now, she’s staring to look around. She likes the Soul, but says it needs another “nut” LOL She’s leaning towards another Santa Fe, but I keep telling her she needs something that gets better mpg. This weekend we went and looked at the Forte, she really doesn’t like sitting low, but she liked it otherwise. Especially the standard Bluetooth and the “kick” when she romped on it.
The Forte seems like an unbeatable value for a daily transpo car. So, who knows?

BTW, when is Hyundai gonna’ bring out their pickup? I saw a proto at the KIA warehouse a while back and it looked good.
