Just think this topic is so relevant to what is going on in our country today. I think it all boils down to relativism infecting our society.

Why Liberals Run Academia

Cuz if you can't do it, teach it. Cuz they can't do real work.

Welcome to FR. Checking your post history, you made your first two posts on two separate threads at EXACTLY the same time. WTF?! How did you manage that?

I was going to go to law school, then decided I could better serve my country with a doctorate in history. You are correct. The liberal rot being taught in even relatively conservative universities (like Texas Tech) is unbelievable, and far, far worse than it was 20 years ago. We must deliver new conservative blood into academia or we’re all comrades of the left.

Professional college people tend to be soft and kind of lazy. Pretty hard to get a multiple fracture or cut off a finger in a saw while thumbing though books.

During the Viet Nam “war” era, a lot of draft dodgers stayed in school pursuing degrees that helped keep them out of the military.

Many of them learned to despise the country because of their antiwar dispositions.

I have often wondered the same thing. Also the media.

I actually think it may be some type of conspiracy tho I have no idea what. The reason I say that, is the media and academia (along with religion) are perfect vehicles for propaganda, in other words they are exactly what a person would choose in order to bend people’s minds.

It could be as simple as Satan.

I think there is a Fabian-like faction in the United States whose sole purpose for the last 50 years has been to slowly change the way Americans think. This is best accomplished through media control, literature, education, entertainment, etc... I don’t think it is any accident that these nutcase lefties are in academia. They only seem crazy now - give them another 20 years, and there will be even more radical thinkers in their place.

We have become a nation of ‘conformists’ aka ‘followers’. Children are taught that to succeed they must attend institutions of higher learning.

Creative thinking is not taught in colleges or universities...it is suppressed. Average students cannot overcome the intense indoctrination and brainwashing practiced by liberal professors - if they want a passing grade.

Most college graduates are competent at accumulating a ‘set of facts’ and matching that knowledge to exams. It ain’t science...it’s human nature. The path of least resistence.

We have become a nation of followers not innovators.

sad

In case you have not noticed, the Libs have pretty much taken over the Elementry/ High schools systems and the Judicial systems also. In case you have also not noticed, it is much easier to be a Liberal these days as you don not have to worry about things such as a moral code to get in the way of having fun.

There are several reasons why liberals dominate universities. The first is that what you often end up with is a consentrated group of individuals whose never had to learn the hard lessons of life that helps burn away the childishness of youth. They live in a protected world where postering an intellectually bullying is accepted as a substitute for reasoning. They create a world with rules that cater to the depraved and insolent. We can defeat them by infiltrating their world and highlighting the things they say within their ivory towers for all to ridicule.

Simple. The radicals started taking over academia in several waves, starting at least as early as the ‘30s. The most recent visible radical disruption was in the ‘60s. They created studies and majors that attracted like-minded socialists, and eventually radicalized and took over other departments. A tipping point was reached.

As usual, conservatives playing by the rules didn’t know what hit them. Too late!

All part of the plan, clearly announced by the likes of Ayers and Dohrn 40 years ago.

A college student I know found big government much more attractive after Obama increased the science research budget, increasing his chances at getting a free ride in graduate school. He who has the gold, rules.

People that LEAVE college go to work and live in the real world. They realize that money isn’t just some arcane concept, but is the reward for the investment of part of your life in some pursuit. They grow up and become conservative.

People that stay at school (either as an eternal student or as faculty) never have to face the ugly world of profit and loss, compromise, and hard decisions; so they stay children (i.e. liberals).

The more “intelligent” you are, the more you think that a handful of elites can make better decisions than the common masses.

However, building a more perfect union isn’t a game of chess where the players win using pure intellect. The idea that the chaotic pursuit of individuals without the control of the philosopher-kings allows for more freedom and prosperity is an alien idea for these people.

This belief is reinforced in academia where, as the professor, you’re in a place where you are the philosopher-king, the head of the masses, and the absolute ruler of ideas and thought.

Academia is where they can get a living without feeling they are working for it like the inferior servant population. They feel they are awarded their stipend based on their inherent value rather than having to do stuff for the money. Of course, they complain that their true value is never recognized and they are not paid sufficient to keep them in the style to which they are entitled by their tremendous Value to society.

Because it’s the perfect environment for people who know next to nothing, can accomplish nothing and are not ever measured objectively or asked to produce anything except a written record of their delusions.
