I will reiterate right up front the fundamental truth that denial is not a plan. And yet we have Ed Kilgore at The New Republic arguing something that might be summarized as, "Well, the Democrats may be falling out of favor, but the Republicans still suck as much as ever." And because Republicans suck as much as ever, Ed argues, that there really is not much of a danger that the GOP can take back the House, much less the Senate, next year.
Denial.

The repubs still suck....
Embrace the suckage.
As of now, the House is a definite possibility though.
A lot can happen between now and next November. Lets hope the GOP plays it smart and gives people something to vote FOR and not just a protest against the Kenyan and his cronies.
What is the meaning of ‘Don’t Tread On Me’? Those Flags and Rattlesnake?
It describes the qualities of the U.S. to those of the American rattlesnake - Penned by Benjamin Franklin in 1775.
‘She never begins an attack, nor, when once engaged, ever surrenders: She is therefore an emblem of magnanimity and true courage. ... she never wounds ‘till she has generously given notice, even to her enemy, and cautioned him against the danger of treading on her.”
Shhhhh! Don’t alert them.
Yes, they do.
What’s up with all this concern about the GOP’s future by liberal bloggers like Little Eddie here? They should be delighted that the GOP is collapsing. Instead, they are out there complaining that the GOP is screwing up. That’s weird.
Mrs. Kilgore’s little Eddie talks like he wants the GOP to retake the House but they are screwing it up. He needs to worry about his ‘RAT comrades and not worry about the GOP.
If the 2010 elections would be honestly conducted the Republicans would win in a landslide. However, ACORN, SEIU or their successor organizations, together with the dead voters, ballot box stuffers, illegal aliens casting multiple ballots, the Democrats will maintain power for the next 50 centuries.
As John Ringo said in “The Last Centurion”, these are the times of suckage.
Yep. Its from all the knuckle-dragging. Step back and take a look at the GOP. . . .(stepping back). Here you have a major political party that is not yet comfortable with such things as social security, minimum wages, medicare. . .etc. etc. etc. They’re scared of these things and kinda think the commies are behind it.
YET, when it comes to things like regulating commodities, they’re “agin it” and the lines between depository banks and investment banks, they’re all for getting rid of. They cut tax rates on the rich, and then ram thru making unemployment proceeds taxable. They reduce tax rates on capital gains, and then ignore the minimum wage for durn near decades at a time.
Yeah, some party they are. The party of the rich, the wealthy, big business. The GOP would be for reinstating the aristocracy if they were honest about things.
parsy, who says Grayson was being polite
The irony lies in the fact that, in stark contrast with destructive and corrupt Obamanoid policies, basic conservatism will never have looked better. And yet it is exactly that which the idiot party has tried to escape and evade.
Should that continue into next year then truly the party has a death wish.
RINO’s have ALWAYS sucked and will ALWAYS suck. The only difference between a RINO and a pile of POOP is the POOP smells better.
That is how odumbo won, people thought he would suck less then McCain
