I don't recommend eating this every day unless you want to be on a first name basis with your cardiologist, but this is the real thing...perfect to smother over homemade biscuits.

I did a nice arm roast in the oven yesterday while watching my college football team beat Ark. State. Carrots, onions, potatoes and leeks (for flavor) in the pot with the beef.
Yum.

A packet of Country Style Gravy works great on homemade biscuits ... but not to belittle this recipe .... can’t take too much of that ....

Here's a good one for sausage gravy for biscuits:

In a heavy skillet on med-high brown a 1# package of bulk breakfast sausage (We like Jimmy Dean Original or Hot). Breaking it up as it cooks. Use slotted spoon to pick up the cooked sausage and transfer to a bowl lined with a paper towel. Turn down heat to medium. In the remaining grease, whisk in four tablespoons of flour until smooth. Allow to cook for at least one minute whisking constantly. Slowly whisk in two cups of milk until smooth. Allow to cook until thickened, about five minutes or so. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve over homemade biscuits, Some kinda YUM!!!

I.ve had milk gravy from hamburger, sausage, venison and chicken but never seen it made with bacon either. Have to try it sometime.

Fried chicken cream style gravy. yum, yum, yum.

I used to like it better than the chicken - especially the way my Mom made it with onion salt.
