Virginia Dems wonder: Maybe we should have gone with McAuliffe

The body is not even cool yet. Hell, the election hasn't even happened yet, and the Democrats are already trying to figure what went is going to go wrong. Now this is my kind of campaign.

Some may remember that Clinton White House Hotelier and Barista Terry McAuliffe ran for Virginia governor this year and lost in the primary to Creigh Deeds. Deeds had 50% of the vote with McAuliffe at 26% and Brian Moran at 24%.

The New York Times thinks that maybe the Virginia Democrats drew the short straw with Deeds.

Of all three Democrats in the primary, Deeds was far and away the least hideous and closest to rational. If they think they have problems now, they should just thank their lucky stars they didn’t choose the carpet-bagging McAuliffe. HE would be down 25 points by now.

When you’re dealing buyer’s remorse over not choosing an absolute scumbag like Terry McAulife, you have truly reached rock bottom.

Or maybe Virginia Dems can do a switch a la New Jersey with Lautenberg for Torricelli? They still have three weeks till election day.

Exactly. And anybody with a brain can see that, especially here in VA where I am. It is stunning that the Democrats can’t see that.

Correction:
But years of doing television interviews, shilling for the Clintons on forums ranging from “Meet the Press” to scrums of local reporters — first defending the Clintons and than advancing himself and his party — paid off in producing a candidate who was an assured television presence. a convincing liar [...]

Mr. McAuliffe, ever the student of the Clintons, [i.e. he can lie with a straight face] had spent months evading the question with bland proclamations about having to find a revenue source.

It goes to show that every once in a while even a liberal bird cage liner like the NY Times lets the truth slip out. It will be amusing to see their post election spin.

Hmmmm this looks like a spot of good news for me as I will be relocating from NJ (may Coreslime rot and burn in hell) to Virginia. I hope both states end up republican. Although I’m not sure Christe is such a change from the current administration

Deeds may still even lose by 11-15 points.

Congratulations on your liberation from NJ! I'm envious.
As far as Christie goes, I'm not a big fan either, but I can't take another 4 years of Corzine. If your still around come election day, please do us poor entrapped NJ conservatives one last favor and vote to dump Corzine.
Have a good one friend!

We KNEW this was coming, just not quite to soon.

Agree with LaLydia, Deeds is only down 8-10, the elites’ fav, McAuliffe, would have been down 25.

Wonder if Deeds is sleeping standing up with his back against a wall?

When buyers remorse sets in BEFORE the election, that's gotta hurt. You know the RATS are looking at the coattail effect and how badly its gonna hurt.

If the GOP picks up VA and loses NJ, its still a win. If they pick up VA and NJ, it's a rout. Only Super ACORN could save them but it looks like Brietbart took care of that little matter.

Wa-hooooooo!!!
