Unfortunately I think there’s a lot of fear about what would happen if we were to actually confront this issue. There would be blood as a result.
Slavery was a very similar situation in the respect that no one had the courage to confront it head on. Instead they let it fester and in the end it became a trip wire that led to a civil war.
I hate to answer this tremendously important issue with a cliche... but it really is true. Freedom isn’t free. It is bought and paid for in blood.
