Scarborough Says War on Fox News Designed to Keep Other Media from Following Fox Stories - Video

Here is video of MSNBC's Joe Scarborough telling fellow panelists this morning that the White House War on Fox News is designed to play to their two bases - the far-Left and the Washington Press Corps. Scarborough said the White House hopes to keep other media outlets from following Fox News stories in the future - stories like ACORN, Van Jones, and now Anita Dunn. Fox News has led the way on all these stories, and the White House has seen other media eventually report on ACORN and Van Jones. They want that to stop.

I think Scarborough is right on target here. . . . (VIDEO)

I think it is funny how the MSNBC, CNN, MSN, ABC, CBS, ABC will all end up going ahead with the same old same old.

They hesitate to break news because they don’t want to embarrass their man. Then they are embarrassed because they don’t appear to know what is going on in the world.

They would actually probably do better if they were to come out and announce, “We have made a business decision. We will no longer report on stories that the whitehouse deems as potentially damaging.”

Obama is asking the Washington Press Corp to self destruct. They will continue to lose viewers if they don’t report important stories while Fox does. I think though the press corp poodles will happily follow Obama off the cliff.

MSNBC, CNN, MSN, ABC, CBS, ABC will all go from second place against Fox, to distant second place......

Pretty poor design if it increases the FoxNews share. The others will be lining up to get on the wrong side of the MadHouse..

"I think it is funny"

Funny, or tragic?

Despite our desires to see them all go out of business (and I'd like to see it more than anyone), America needs an aggressive and independent media to keep government in check. To date, we've only seen one broadcaster and perhaps a paper or two that aren't willing to toe the White House line.

I just saw MSNBC for the first time in a doctor’s office. I fell asleep with coffee in hand.

Boring.

"Joe Scarborough is Captain Obvious."

He may be that, and some other things that aren't very endearing. But, he's the only non-Fox personality that I've seen say such a thing. For that, he deserves a little credit.

The WH is trying the politics of personal destruction on a grander scale.

They are trying it against FoxNews.

The loser is the one who blinks.

Talk about a plan backfiring. Not only will people be lining up to watch FOX, the only place to find dozens of real stories, but it will elevate the media bias scandal to the breaking point. The blatant in-your-face bowing to the Administration will finally generate their utter collapse. And guess who will be in prime position to pick up the pieces and expand its new media empire??

If it works to any extent, this strategy will only buy time for Obama. Some may remember when the upstart CNN first came on the scene, if you had cable you’d tell your friends about the in-depth news coverage and analysis on cable, and while they’d still tune in Rather or Brokaw every night like their moms and dads always did, they couldn’t resist the temptation to see what the buzz was all about on cable news, and eventually joined the crowd.

Fox already has a lot of independent and democrat viewers and the more Obama makes people feel they’re missing out on some forbidden fruit that’s available only on Fox, they’ll only get more.

The other networks would be stupid. Fox News is number 1 in all the news networks.

Americans who watch news will likely hear these stories either way so it ultimately makes the fringe media look slow and behind the times (like they have looked the past 10 yrs).

If they want legitimacy, they would be smart to try to obtain these stories or forever be considered non players in news.

They are probably hoping to become official state run media.

Fox News and talk radio are bashing the template that used to dictate that all news stories MUST originate with the NYT or it is not news. All network newscasts have been almost second-by-second duplication of efforts. When Peter Jennings - in the anchor chair - descibed the 1994 Republican take over of Congress as a “temper tantrum”, THAT was news. If Fox asks embarrassing - and valid - questions on Policies in the White Crib, THAT is considered being an enemy of the state.

I agree. The question is, when is MSNBC going to fire him for going against the grain?

Obama is asking the Washington Press Corp to self destruct.

That is exactly right. If something really, really damaging and irrefutable comes out on obama or his administration, or... if something awful happens in this country as a result of obama's policies, the MSM will completely lose credibility and bear full responsibility for not having vetted and accurately reported on this administration.
