White House Dismisses Hannity and Beck as "Opinion"; Maddow, Olby Attend Obama Briefings - Video

Here is a video report on ABC's Jake Tapper confronting White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs on the White House's decision to attack Fox News as not being a real news organization. Tapper asked Gibbs why they were doing that and what gave them the right to do so. Gibbs eventually said, "That's our opinion." Gibbs made the comment in an "off-camera" White House briefing yesterday.

"It’s escaped none of our notice that the White House has decided in the last few weeks to declare one of our sister organizations “not a news organization” and to tell the rest of us not to treat them like a news organization. Can you explain why it’s appropriate for the White House to decide that a news organization is not one?"

In this report, Bret Baier says Gibbs singled out Hannity and Glenn Beck as "opinion shows." But Baier said the White House confirmed that MSNBC's Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann attended Monday's "off-the-record" briefing with President Obama.

The bottom line is, this White House is determined to punish any news organization or reporter who says or reports anything that does not please The One. . . . (VIDEO)

I heard this morning that MOOOOOveon.org is mounting a campaign to tell all democrat politicians NOT to appear on FOX News.

Are they also going to tell Bob Beckel, Julian Epstein, Geraldine Ferraro and Lackey Davis to quit getting their FOX paychecks for their appearances, stop showing up on the programs??

I was really annoyed with Hannity last night, he had both Beckel and Davis on, asked them if this chastising of FOX was *good strategy* instead of asking either of them how they feel about being tools of the GOP (according to Rahm and the goons). Beckel, to his credit, at least bolstered the news section of the network by stating it has no bias and does not make anything up, regardless he added, "There are a couple of shows ..." (and we all know what he meant by that). Davis, however, blasts that FOX bashes 0bama every night, I waited for Hannity to say, "Well then, why are YOU on it?" but he did not, he just went on to do the softee stuff, frustrating.

Mr Gibbs,

Why does the President of the US think he has the right to mount a national campaign to censor opinion shows, on the basis of his opposing opinion??
