President a no-show.
Barack Obama doesn’t care about service people.
Texas is a red state.
Plus, the chain smoker has to twist arms for PelosiCare.
I am not a fan of George W. Bush in any sense, but I do say one thing for him: He would have been there today.
Barack Obama cares about....Barack Obama.
Regardless of who’s sitting in the Oval Office, I find the notion that a President should jet-off to the scene of a tragedy acting as Healer-in-Chief rather silly.
We don't need him cluttering up our state.
The commander in chief of our armed forces is AWOL, quick, call the MPs
He’s too busy recognizing an Indian who didn’t win the Medal of Honor.
The tragedy was HIS tragedy. This was a MILITARY base with MILITARY personel. It wasn’t just some random McDonalds. He is the highest ranking officer in that organization, yes, in this case, he should jet off to the scene.
It's obvious.
I can't help but imagine how the parents and spouses and children and other loved ones of those killed and injured yesterday are feeling, seeing the lack of compassion from the president while experiencing such horrible loss.
My heart is breaking for them and I'm furious with Obama.
You are absolutely correct. If anything the President showing up to a scene of this sort only makes the situation worse. BUT! If a Republican president didn’t show up, the press and left would have a field day.
Thank God he didn’t. If such a thing were possible, it would only have caused a mess.
Bush didn’t fly to NYC or rush the Pentagon on 9/11, either.
Ft. Hood didn’t lift their lockdown until after nine p.m. They wouldn’t have let ANYONE in. And Secret Service wouldn’t have cleared him to travel to such an area, anyway. It is completely against their operating proceedures.
Calm down. ;)
His mention of Fort Hood following shout-outs and accolades spoke enough.
Two tabloids are claiming he is having a meltdown..or at least has on one occasion. Not eating, etc.
My post is just about spreading the truth about the ringer.
If he did go, he'd probably have directed most of his remarks to socialized medicine.
ML/NJ
The American tabloids are mostly owned by Clintonistas.
He should have gone or he should be on his way today.
Well spoken.
Please pass along to your son my thanks for his service.
My mistake... posted to wrong person.
Thanks, Jeff.
This was a case of Jihad within the ranks, plain and simple, like the case of Sgt. Asan Akbar in 2003.
And of course Hasan was harassed. Making the kind of statements he did against the war and for the enemy in the presence of other soldiers who were either going to war or returning from it ensured that he would be...and I do not blame those soldiers one bit.
The blame falls on Hasan himself and the system that left him, after the reports came in, in that position. He was a treacherous enemy within the ranks and he ultimately went Jihad.
And, again, that’s what it was, Jihad.
This Hasan has been a live one for a long time, even suggestiong that more Muslims should attack and kill us after the Arkansas recruiter was killed.
He should not have been working with any soldiers returning from the war zone or deplying to it. In fact, he should have been discharged from the military altogether IMHO.
Hopefully now he will get the same sentence that Akbar got...and hopefully, unlike Akbar, it will be carried out swiftly.
As to Barack Hussein Obama...he has made clear his own feelings on the war and on our enemies that we are fighting. He will avoid calling this what it is, and he will avoid actually helping our soldiers win this thing. We simplyu MUST neuter this man in 2010 and then run him out on a rail in 2012...and I believe we will.
AMERICA AT THE CROSSROADS OF HISTORY
http://www.jeffhead.com/crossroads.htm
I completely agree normally but these are US troops and he is, unfortunately, their CiC.
It’s a higher priority for the CinC to twist arms in DC than console mothers and wives at Ft. Hood.
The last thing I want to see is Baraq grandstanding at the funeral of some American soldiers.
Stay in DC.
I don't get the military/civilian distinction, either--he's the President. President Bush flew out to the memorial service at Virginia Tech (if I remember correctly). One hasn't even been scheduled at Ft. Hood, yet.
Now, if Obama blows that off people will have room to criticize.
He didn’t go to Georgia after their floods either.
There are some gift horses we shouldn’t question!!!
One of them was the National Examiner..can’t remember the other one...probably Globe or Enquirer.
Oh, gee - a single tear rolls down my cheek...
When it gets to be too much for him, he's free to resign.
You are not alone. I am praying without ceasing for the fallen and their families. I am also galled beyond belief at the behavior of The Cold One. We will see more of his aloof distancing from the people. And, guess what, it’s more than likely some of those known to these troops and dare I say some of the troops themselves voted for this assinine fool.
