Missing John Ashcroft

This past August, the current Attorney General, Eric Holder, decided to launch an investigation of the CIA's methods of interrogation of suspected Islamic terrorists.

A move lauded by terrorists.

And condemed by seven former CIA directors, that Holder's actions in that regard, could actually help Al-Qaeda. Not to mention other Islamists.

Meanwhile, Janet Napolitano, head of Homeland Security, has been in Abu Dhabi in the UAE discussing "security issues" with United Arab Emirates officials.

After the Ft. Hood jihad terror attack, Napolitano made comments while in the UAE, that could basically be understood as an apology to the Muslim world,--if Americans are suspicious or angry toward Islam, because we have been attacked again.

After 9/11, then Attorney General John Ashcroft, worked hard to tear down the "communication wall" between law enforcement and intelligence Agencys, so that vital info could be shared. Making it easier to assemble and connect-the-dots concerning potential terror threats against our country:

" So, with smoke still rising from the Twin Towers and other crash sites, alongside a team of people at the Justice Department  I worked night and day to put a piece of legislation together that would give us the clout we needed to track down and arrest suspected terrorists."

-p.154."Never Again: Securing America and Restoring Justice ", John Ashcroft, 2006.

The result of that hard work was the USA Patriot Act:

"Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act"

"Does the Patriot Act work? You bet! Prosecutors and investgators shared information in investigating the defendants in the 'Virginia Jihad ' case. This prosecution involved members of the Dar al-Arqam Islamic Center, who trained for jihad..."-Ashcroft

All the more reason why Mosques and Islamic communities be aggresively monitored.

GOD BLESS John Ashcroft. He was the right man at the right time.

I have met him a couple of times in Missouri and he is the real deal.

John would make a great President.

John Ashcroft is an asshat. His Patriot Act sold many of our freedoms down the drain in the name of national security, of course.

Thanks, you got that right. He would indeed.

Oh, no, the dhimmi democrats fussed and fumed about how “divisive” he was at his confirmation hearings.

Well, as far as they are concerned, any true conservative and patriot will be too “divisive”.

Ashcroft repackaged the Janet Reno justice department proposed power grab from the 90s as the “patriot” act. No thanks.

Wrong. The Patriot has given the authorities the tools they need to effectively go after the terrorists. That is why C.A.I.R and their dhimmi democrat allies are so critical of it.

In the hands of a responsible patriotic government, the Patriot Act was a powerful weapon against terrorists and their supporters.

But now, the bad guys are running our government. Islamists have infiltrated the military and Congress. They are the ones who would seek to abuse the Patriot Act.

“But now, the bad guys are running our government. Islamists have infiltrated the military and Congress. They are the ones who would seek to abuse the Patriot Act.”

Exactly why you don’t want that kind of power in an act like this. You don’t know who will abuse it. You have to assume the bad guys get it, which is what our founding fathers assumed. They had forethought, Ashcroft (and Bush) had none.

Ashcroft is a loser, not a patriot.

It has been pointed out in the book “Muslim Mafia” that C.A.I.R. made 72 trips to Capital Hill to lobby aganst the Patriot Act.

That in itself speaks volumes as to the effectivness of the Patiot Act to enable going after jihadists in this country.
