Jail For Corruption.
William Jefferson was sentenced today for quite a few federal offenses. Among them bribery. Hes most famous for having the freezer with $90,000 in cash inside. According to Politico:
Jeffersons sentence was the harshest ever handed out to a former lawmaker, but Justice Department officials said Jefferson warranted such a severe sanction due to the unprecedented scale of his corruption. Jefferson appeared in court Friday afternoon in a black suit and a red tie, with his five daughters, his wife and his brother.
Jefferson did not speak at his sentencing, and his attorney Robert Trout says he will appeal the conviction.
This sentence should be a clear signal that our society will not tolerate bribery, said U.S. Attorney Neal H. MacBride. Its not just a cost of doing business in government.
Another federal prosecutor, Mark Lytle, called Jeffersons crimes the most extensive and pervasive pattern of corruption in the history of congress.

I believe that should be a “D” in front of “LA.”
That dummy, he should have cheated on his taxes instead, and he wouldn’t be in trouble now.
Err, Jefferson is a D. With a capital D.
You’re right. My computer is going incredibly slow and I thought I fixed it.
Your mistake would have been believable if “d” and “b” were anywhere near each other on the keyboard. ;)
Never mind me I forgot the alphabet. LOL
He is now a hero and victim in the RATs eyes.
Yeah. If he had cheated on his taxes, he might be Secretary of the Treasury now.
Dang. Missed the pool by 8 years. I had 20.
The most ethical congress ever.
You are some piece of work, Nan.
If he were a Republican the article would say so.
Cold time for Cold Cash....one down, hundreds to go.
One down a few more thousand to go!
Convicted of federal offenses—which means Odumba can pardon him immediately.
