Here is an interesting email in the CRU compendium about a solar connection to temperature.

I wonder if they ever published this? Naaaa.

The nice part is that there is data and mathematica code that can be run to verify the connection.

(Excerpt) Read more at wingod.newsvine.com ...

TOPICS: Science
KEYWORDS: cruhack; globalwarming; hadleycru
This is interesting, sounds like they didn't peruse this alternative explanation but they saved the email.

CRU Scientists Find Solar Connection in Climate (extracted from the email dump)

Yeah, like the everything about our climate begins with the sun's activity and the angle at which it strikes different portions of the earth. Everything after that is just a reaction, and carbon dioxide is a very tiny element in those reactions to the sun...

If you haven’t already. You should download and read these e-mails for yourself.

There is a constant theme about how to either avoid, discredit or stifle dissention in the scientific community as well as the media.

They blacklist deniers and keep poor peer reviews from seeing the light of day.

"I wonder if they ever published this?"

Here's what CRU still has on their website:

It has been known for many centuries that the face of the sun exhibits dark patches, ‘sunspots’, and that the number of sunspots varies with a fairly regular cycle of around 11 years.

Is this sunspot cycle an indicator of processes within the sun that might also affect the solar output and, hence, Earth's climate? Despite many studies, the evidence is still controversial. Sunspot cycles have been found in climate parameters, but the fluctuations are weak and tend to appear and disappear without reason.

<- - clip - ->

But, again, the evidence for these apparent correlations is not strong. Moreover, the fluctuations in solar output that likely accompanied these sunspot trends were not really sufficient to generate the observed climate changes, without some amplifying mechanism.

cru.uea.ac.uk

In contrast, this is what the hacked/leaked e-meal says:
It would appear that the solar cycle does indeed affect temperature.

(I tried the same run on the CRU global temperature set. Even though CRU must be highly smoothed by the time all the averages are worked out, the 11-year pulse is still there...

There are only 2 primary sources of heat for the planet earth.. the first and really the only one that affects global climate, is the SUN. The other which can effect localized climates is Geothermal.

The idea that humans affect the world wide climate by creating plant food (CO2) is laughable on its face, it never passed the rudimentary smell tests, yet, thanks to collusion, and intentional deception, a whole lot of dupes bought into it.

Actually, there’s only one source of external energy adding to the system - the Sun.

Geothermal energy is energy already present in the system, not added to it.

The video documentary below, explains very well the "solar connection" -- and it's not what you think either... :-)

It’s one thing to gripe and complain about these things and disagree with it, but it’s quite another to convince your friends and neighbors and relatives and coworkers...

THEREFORE..., it’s also absolutely necessary for people to know the information in the following documentary. If there were simply one video that you could see and/or show people you know... this would be the one...

The following is an excellent video documentary on the so-called “Global Warming” I would recommend it to all FReepers. It’s a very well-made documentary.

“The Great Global Warming Swindle”

If you want to download it, via a BitTorrent site (using a BitTorrent client), you can get it at the following link. Information about BitTorrent protocol and BitTorrent clients and their comparison at these three links (in this sentence). Some additional BitTorrent information here and here.

Download it here...
http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/3635222/The_Great_Global_Warming_Swindle
[This is a high-quality copy, of about a gigabyte in size. This link is the information about it, and you have to click the download link to get it on your BitTorrent client software. You'll also find users' comments here, too.]

It’s worth seeing and having for relatives, friends, neighbors and coworkers to see.

Also, see it online here...
http://www.moviesfoundonline.com/great_global_warming_swindle.php
[this one is considerably lower quality, is a flash video and viewable online, of course..., and also, you can download flash video on a website either yourself or some software doing it.]

Buy it on DVD here...
[this would be the very highest quality version, on a DVD disk, of several gigabytes in size...] At Amazon, it seems to be high-priced now and have only a few copies right now.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000WLUXZE

At WAGtv (a UK shop), but don't know about shipping. The price is reasonable, though.

[And..., some information from WAGtv about this item.]

It would appear that the solar cycle does indeed affect temperature.

So they publicly lied and people will freeze to death this winter. Crop harvests have also been affected. We are in the early active phase of Solar Cycle 24, yet sunspot activity is still very low. We are still cooling. At this rate, the majority of the US will experience very little summer next year. Now that Indian Summer is coming to an end, look for a very nasty winter with some historic extremes.

Yes, but they are the ONLY 2 sources of heat on earth, period. There are no others, geothermal only can affect local climate, with the exception of an occassional caldera erruption that blocks solar rays to the surface by the debris it spews into the upper atmosphere.

The sun is the driver of global climate, the amount of sunlight reaching us and its intensity are what affect global temps.. nothing we as humans do has or can do any major impact to the long term planetary climate. Hell even if we blew up every nuke we ever built at once, we may kill ourselves off, and cause a nuclear winter for a few decades, but the earths climate will return to what it would have been had that event never even occurred relatively quickly.

The very idea of human caused global warming, never passed the smell test of any serious examination, the only reason such a fraud could exists is far too stupid people. Educated perhaps, but grotesquely stupid.

I see, so looking at ‘climate’ as being the system, there are only two sources, especially as it pertains to ‘variation’.

I was looking at ‘Earth’ as the system and looking at the enthalpy equation. All the energy the Earth has every had, it has. Without the sun, that energy is just getting converted on an ongoing basis.

The only new energy coming into the system is the Sun. As such, humans can’t - on their own - permanently change the climate using the earth’s own indigenous energy. Only the sun can do that, because it is the only factor adding energy to the system.

Yes, if you look as earth as an entire system, the only outside forces are solar radiation, and possibility of a large collision with another body affecting rotational speeds etc, that could increase or decrease geothermal activities.

Without the sun, assuming it disappeared with the Earth in the state it is today, the Earth is effectively Europa, frozen surface with at least some liquid oceans and perhaps some surface areas warmed by geothermal vents fending off becoming a complete ice ball.

Every day the sun delivers the heat that drives the planet, the amount of energy we receive from the sun is mind boggling for the typical person to understand. To understand the scale, if we could just capture 1/10,000 of that energy, we could replace ALL forms of energy humans use today, and for the foreseeable future. Just 1/10,000 or .0001% of all the energy that hits the Earth daily would provide humans with all the power consumption we need today and for the foreseeable future (100-200 years).

What does that mean? Well that means if every single piece of human consumed energy came from consumption of fossil fuels, which it doesn't, but lets just say it does. We'd have to burn 10,000 times as much as we do now to produce the energy the sun provides the earth. So 10,000 days is about 30 years. Now, lets just think about this for a minute... We have to burn 30 years worth of fossil fuels to get the same amount of energy the Sun delivers to the Planet in 1 Day.

So, what's more likely to affect climate? Small deviations in the amount of sunlight that reaches the earth over time or a few more or less parts per million of an element that is used by all the plant life on the planet as food?

Of course the biggest contributor to the climate is the SUN, nothing we can do as humans can remotely come close to it. Global Warming caused by human action was never remotely something that passed the most fundamental basics of analytical thought. And this leak just proves the blatantly obvious.. it was obviously not valid, shortly after it was theorized and flat out fraud has perpetuated it.

I LOVE your post.

Very nicely put. I will kype that and use it to the fullest extent of influence.

In the face of that analysis, anthropomorphic climate change is a ridiculous notion.
