Harry Reid's Healthcare Compromise-> One Foot on the Banana Peel The Other in the Grave

Much has been said about "the great compromise" that was announced by Harry Reid on earlier this week, most of what has been said has been negative. Much of the negativity is coming from key democrats, the ones most likely to cross over and vote against cloture. Reid is having a very hard time finding the 60 votes he needs to cut off debate and allow an up or down vote on Obamacare.

Now here's the fun part, there is no real compromise. that's why no one in the senate knows what he heck is in it. In reality the plan is nothing but a "Hail Mary Pass," a last chance long bomb. The original Senate Plan that the Democrats had been working on for weeks had no chance of getting to the 60 vote mark. So Reid took a five year-old plan put together by Teddy Kennedy, gave it an update, threw in a few progressive trinkets and sent with great fanfare sent it on its merry way to the CBO for scoring.

This Congress and the Obama Administration have been a complete disaster. I'm no spring chicken but this group is completely out of touch with is going on with the country. It's getting very scary.

I’ve got an idea for a compromise. Take the health care away from Congress and give it to the poor.

ObamaCare...on paper..is the final demented raving of a functionally insane institution...the US Congress...an entity so divorced from reality, singularly insulated from the populace it presumes to govern...by a Beltway Buffer of loot extracted from Flyover Country...that serves to distort its sensory organs toward its permanent and chronic self-sufflation and aggrandizement. The most we can hope for( and that they should pray for were they alert enough to the pending issues) is that the inevitable is less destructive than the French Revolution

There are clear signs that we have a rough road ahead of us, but make no mistake, we will get our country back... one way... or the other.

I find strength and wisdom in the words of this great man.

Throughout this ordeal, I have never given up hope that the whole thing would implode. I still haven’t. When you try to please everyone, you end up pleasing no one. This is interest-group warfare at its very best. I remain eternally optimistic—if this fails and the whole global warming charade collapses—it’s a game breaker. Liberalism will have been exposed to the world as an unworkable farce.

“...but we just might be watching the bill fall apart before our eyes.”

Oh please! Oh please! Oh please! I hope so! I hope so!

The only thing that worries me is that the Dems seem to have a death wish and have given up caring about re-election. It’s time for term limits and an end to special laws protecting members of Congress from the laws they pass that only apply to the “rest” of us.

For whatever it's worth, I agree.

No one seems to be talking about Dorgan’s “Drug Re-importation” amendment. It has broad bi-partisan support and obama has made a very quiet, under-the-table agreement with big pharma to not allow this to happen. This was for their support. When the drug re-importation bill passes, will big pharma issue a statement of non-support? If so, this will drive a stake in the heart of this blood sucking beast!
