Many in the Republican leadership ARE prolife, but I don’t know if they are innovative enough to try to get Nelson to join their party.
I could put up with a prolife moderate if it stops Obamacare. Do you REALIZE how miserable our lives will be if it gets passed?
Nelson is prolife AND pro2nd amendment. We could trade him in for one of the Maine gals.
The question everyone asks is "whatever happened to the JFK democrats?" My dad (bless his soul) would be so disappointed in the sell-out, spend-all party of now.

What they are doing to Nelson just might make him mad enough to switch parties, especially since he is prolife and pro2nd amendment.

You got that right. Former Senator Coleman was a pro life 2nd amendment Democrat mayor of Saint Paul. He was chased from the Dems in the mid 90s sort of like how Nelson was chased from the dems today. We ended up with a Rino in the senate. A socialist is a socialist, even if they believe in the 2nd amendment and are against abortion. The West Indies and Latin America have lots of pro life, pro self defense socialists too, but we wouldn’t want West Indian or Latin American politics over here.
I don’t believe the GOP leaders have the savvy or the will anymore to make these kinds of deals. They have become a bunch of eunuchs wandering around in circles trying to be “gentlemen.” When and if they learn to fight, I will return to the Party.

Like what? Any leadership post they give Nelson means that they would have to take it away from a long-time Republican. So who do you piss off?

That’s why I gave the phone # of the RNC, and better yet, if you are a constituent of one of the leaders in Congress, pressure from many constituents can do a lot.
Also, call a talk show. That’s what I just did.
Even the reporter from the Weekly Standard who broke the story said that Nelson “had” to deny the threat. So, who knows??
I’m sure they can give Nelson something, and just getting away from the Dem Party would be good for Nelson, if they give him a hard time.
