If Obama and the Dem leadership are giving Senator Nelson a hard time, the Republican leadership in Congress should reach out to him, and invite him to join the Republican Party, and give him an attractive job in the senate.
Why not contact the Republican leaders in the Congress, and also the RNC? The RNC phone number is: 1-202-863-8500
"the White House is now threatening to put Nebraskas Offutt Air Force Base on the BRAC list if Nelson doesnt fall into line."

You might also want to contact Sen. Nelson and ask him to leave the Party of Death. Contact info. for Nelson is at Post No. 6 at the above link, compliments of TheLurkerX.
They would never do it because the Republican leadership (in the party back offices and major donors) are PRO-ABORTION RINOS.
Oh yeah, that’s what we need - another RINO!
Many in the Republican leadership ARE prolife, but I don’t know if they are innovative enough to try to get Nelson to join their party.
I could put up with a prolife moderate if it stops Obamacare. Do you REALIZE how miserable our lives will be if it gets passed?
Nelson is prolife AND pro2nd amendment. We could trade him in for one of the Maine gals.
The question everyone asks is "whatever happened to the JFK democrats?" My dad (bless his soul) would be so disappointed in the sell-out, spend-all party of now.
Yes, the Dem Party is not our parents’ Dem Party any more.
What they are doing to Nelson just might make him mad enough to switch parties, especially since he is prolife and pro2nd amendment.
I just contacted him myself at:
Nelson needs to switch
Or at least move to Independent
You got that right. Former Senator Coleman was a pro life 2nd amendment Democrat mayor of Saint Paul. He was chased from the Dems in the mid 90s sort of like how Nelson was chased from the dems today. We ended up with a Rino in the senate. A socialist is a socialist, even if they believe in the 2nd amendment and are against abortion. The West Indies and Latin America have lots of pro life, pro self defense socialists too, but we wouldn’t want West Indian or Latin American politics over here.
I don’t believe the GOP leaders have the savvy or the will anymore to make these kinds of deals. They have become a bunch of eunuchs wandering around in circles trying to be “gentlemen.” When and if they learn to fight, I will return to the Party.
Nelson has disputed the claim that Obama threatened to close Offut.
With this “Chicago Mob” running things in DC, it sure seemed plausible, however.
Like what? Any leadership post they give Nelson means that they would have to take it away from a long-time Republican. So who do you piss off?
“I dont believe the GOP leaders have the savvy or the will anymore to make these kinds of deals.”
That’s why I gave the phone # of the RNC, and better yet, if you are a constituent of one of the leaders in Congress, pressure from many constituents can do a lot.
Also, call a talk show. That’s what I just did.
Even the reporter from the Weekly Standard who broke the story said that Nelson “had” to deny the threat. So, who knows??
I’m sure they can give Nelson something, and just getting away from the Dem Party would be good for Nelson, if they give him a hard time.
I just called Fred Thompson’s talk show about this, and even received a gold coin. :)
YOU can call tomorrow (or before 2 p.m. today, ET). The number is: 1-877-973-7338
Again, any position of leadership that they give Nelson will have to come from a current GOP Senator. Who do you piss off?
The GOP is in the minority in the Senate and will likely be in the minority even after a really good 2010 season.
The GOP has nothing to offer that’s worth taking.
I’ve been furious with the GOP, but they have some good people like DeMint, Michele Bachmann, Mike Pence and many more.
Sounds like you’ve let the liberals from both major parties demoralize you. That won’t happen to me. I will keep fighting.
Part of my email from rightmarch:
“Sen. James Webb (D-VA), who voted with conservatives five times for amendments that would have prevented Reid from slashing Medicare funding, is still undecided. Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) said she would vote against the bill if it raised health care costs overall — which it does, by $234 billion. Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-ME) refused to say on Tuesday if she’s leaning towards supporting the healthcare bill. Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) says the bill is still too deeply flawed for me to support it.’
Anything can happen.
Oh yeah .. SO HE CAN SELL US OUT TOO!! ARE YOU PEOPLE CRAZY ..??
