It seems to me that what you're saying is that as long as the politician is registered "Republican," then that politician is better than a Democrat. But the truth is that a liberal big government Republian like Romney who would have us enslaved to intrusive government is WORSE than a liberal big government Democrat because that Republican sabotages the future hope of a party home for that ideology that you and I hold so dear.

Not at all. RINOs destroyed the Republican Party. We need conservatives to take back the party. Absolutely. No question about it. In November of 2010, we need to rid ourselves of all things remotely aligned with socialism. We are in definite agreement there.

I had a hunch we were! I wonder if you're in agreement with my wise ol' pop, who often says that it's a mistake to vote for the man. Better to vote for the philosophy -- the ideology, if you will. In that I am in definite agreement with you that an ideology must have a party. It's why I vote Republican ticket -- my dad has said that voting for a Republican president and then voting for Democrats in Congress is like hiring a carpenter but giving him only plumber's tools.

I must say, however, that after Schwarzenegger, I will no longer default to the Republican. Had McCain chosen as his running mate a Romney or similar big-intrusive-government RINO, my vote would have gone elsewhere. I learned quite a lot from Schwarzenegge, and will apply what I've learned: RINOs forfeit my vote from now on. They didn't used to -- but they do now; voting for them now is fulfilling Einstein's definition of insanity.

Thanks for a good discussion.
