The establishment GOP just doesn’t get it! It’s so frustrating. Giuliani is no Republican; he is a RINO! He would have sold us down the river the first chance he could. He is probably worse than McCain and Romney and is just fine where he’s at as a security adviser for the Brazilian Olympics.
Ugh, I can just imagine the horrid press releases that'll come from the GOP on this...
Personally, I'd rather not live with two more years of economic crash and burn as Obama and the Rats pillage whatever credit is available in the world, then start printing the US dollar into nonexistence just so that the GOP can put Romney in. Thing is, if the GOP doesn't figure this out pretty quick, these 'wacky third party' references will be about the GOP while the rest of us go vote for a conservative.
For tomorrow.
That's exactly the GOP plan. Their goal is to eliminate the huge margin in the House and Senate and let all the junk both RINOs and RATs pass fall on Obama. It's all orchestrated.
Reality: The Republican leadership wants to live in mansions, ride in limos, take exotic vacations, go to fancy parties, eat in fancy restaurants, get drunk, have sex with who or what ever, and they want you to pay for all that; just like a Democrat.
Gotta say, the GOP doesn’t mean a whole lot to me, except for Bachmann and Palin. They don’t get it, and they ain’t gonna get it, and Demint and Boner telling me to forget about the fraud in the white house ain’t gonna buy them too much loyalty from me.
They like the minority. They get a huge split of all the Loot and no blame.
Whoever wrote this does not seem to understand American elections:
1. Rudy chose not to run the GOP did not discourage him.
2. GOP voters in Illinois will pick their candidate.
3. As with Rudy no one in the GOP is telling the Govenor of N.Dak not to run.
4. As with Illinois, the GOP voters of California will pick their candidate.’
Exactly how I see it, FWIW.
I think you’re right on #1 and probably #3, but the party definitely gets involved funding and otherwise favoring the most tepid, big-government candidates it can find—even when the primary is technically decided by the voters.
Dump the Republicrat party!
Too late. Martin-Trigona, one of Kirk's GOP primary opponent, just outed him.
What, are we supposed to hold a gun to people's heads, and force them to run for office?
It’s much more complex than that. Somebody needs to establish the Ronald W Reagan School of Political Communication. I’m serious. The problem isn’t that there aren’t enough conservative candidates, it’s that in terms of pushing the conservative agenda to the full electorate, they suck at doing it, royally.
The GOP Establishment has this notion that they don’t want to offend the middle/moderate voters whom they need to win elections. True, you need them to vote for you. But there’s two separate issues going on here. The first, sadly, is that many “moderate” voters simply lacks the skills to fully comprehend the conservative agenda and platform during the election cycle. To compound that, we lack the conservative candidates with the patience and skill to bridge this gap and effectively communicate a solid conservative agenda. Our candidates want to be the next Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter when they should be working to be next Reagan.
For example, let’s say I’m a moderate voter undecided in a race between Larry Liberal and Chuck Conservative, both true to their ideologies. Larry, like most liberals, must conceal much of his agenda so he “plays it safe”. Chuck meanwhile, proud of his conservative beliefs, brashes out at Larry, calling him and anyone who supports him a “baby killer” and a “marxist”. While that may be true, Chuck has inadvertently angered the moderate voter’s ego even though that moderate voter may actually hold the same conservative views as Chuck. This in term gets interpreted by the GOP Establishment and mainstream media as “mean-spirited” campaigning. So they seek out less-conservative RINO’s believing that the less-tone rhetoric will be acceptable, but they also sacrifice core beliefs in the process.
What Reagan did (and I can’t figure out why other conservative canddidates don’t follow this model) was to use the proper amount of wit, tact, charm, and communication skills he excelled at to his advantage. Rather than attack a moderate for “being stupid” or calling them “ignorant”, he took the time to hash out the issues so that anyone could understand them. Two examples come to mind are the 1961 Medicare Speech and the 1981 Economic Address. Those were written and delivered in ways that all people could logically follow and comprehend. Reagan was a master at being a partisan without being partisan (if that makes sense). He had opponents on the left running in circles not knowing what happened until after whatever victory he was seeking had been achieved.
Also notice throughout Reagan’s political career, the man never changed, he kept the same model. How easy would it have been for him to close up shop after the GOP pasting of 1964/19474? There were RINO’s and liberals in Reagan’s hey-day and for whatever reasons despite their own beliefs, they liked him, to the tune of giving Reagan two landslide victories. Perhaps they may not have understood everything Reagan advocated, but one thing was clear: they trusted him. And today, the absence of trust threatens to bring the whole GOP Establishment down.
As long as Conservatives keep voting for RINO’s, the RNC will continue to keep pushing them.
Has everybody already forgotten NY-23?
Every time the RNC pushes a RINO, they need to have it thrown in their face, EVERY SINGLE TIME NO EXCEPTIONS.
If RINO’s never win, the RNC will (hopefully) get smart and quit spending money on them.
Until Conservatives draw a line in the sand, its RINOville all the way.
Keep your powder dry!
