The man is pastor of a large church. That is no reason to trash him either. So his church is facing a shortfall... and so he is appealing to church members to give a little extra to meet that short fall. It doesn't make him the demon you all seem to portray.
It is one thing to criticize. That is valid. It is quite another to slime a good man who has said some things with which you disagree. That's deplorable.
Now I'll brace myself to be trashed and slimed by my own fellow travelers. I hope it doesn't happen. I hope you all are decent enough to accept a little criticism from one of your own fellow-conservatives.
i say this kindly, but what is quoted below is FAR OVER THE LINE FOR A BIBLICAL PASTOR:
“Christians worship the same god as muslims.”
when a supposed biblical clergyperson makes that statement or one like it, he has blasphemed Jesus who said He is the only way to the Father.
sorry that warren gets some slime on responses at this time, but warren has set himself up for it with his extremism against the gospel message that is so clear one has to be a fool not to get it—especially with conservative theological education.
Rick Warren knowingly accepted an invitation to speak before a Muslim Brotherhood front that was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorism financing trial in US history. He is on the wrong side.
