Sadly, he’ll probably get help with this from more than a few bishops.
But I do think in the last analysis that the majority of the heirarchy will remain faithful to Christ and will refused to follow Obama. He’s going to do all he can to confuse and mislead, of course, and I hope they’re smart enough to sort out the truth.
The US Catholic Church will likely shrink as the new Mass translation is introduced and other changes reversed that were of the “it’s easier to ask forgivenss” genre. It is sad that many of my fellow parishioners voted for this POS and defend them.

I'll take him at his word. Obama is too small to pick a fight with God. He'll find out quickly.
The problem is the Catholic Church in the United States has been running line and down field blocking for Democrats for so long that the Catholic Church can finally harvest the crop. That Catholic Bishops are complaining about abortion these days is actually hilarious or would be if not so tragic.
Obama is giving them everything they have wanted for so long.
The Catholic Church has operated with the modus operandi that we need to draw the line on abortion *wink, wink* but, in the meantime give us socialism, give lots of it and give it now! Catholic Bishops that have spoken loudest over the years are a pretty sickening lot.

Sadly, that was what many of the USCCB head honchos did with the health care bill. There were many good Catholic reasons for objecting to it, but the pro-Dem bishops staked their "opposition" on something they knew it would be fairly easy to deal with. All the Dems had to do was put a little language in the bill pretending not to fund abortion, with everybody knowing that even though the proviso was meaningless, they'd take it out later, and the bishops were fine with it.
It was all a sham.
That said, there were some bishops who were very firm on the whole thing and did in fact understand what Obama and the Dems were trying to pull over on them.

I think the Bishops understand the difference between taxes(socialism) and charity. Conversely, the Catholic Church is under attack by government that claims the Church is a political organization and would like to take away the tax exempt status because of their pro-life stance. I dont see that happening to other religious groups.
