OBAMA HAS SIGNED AWAY OUR RIGHTS WITH THE EXECUTIVE ORDER CHANGE RE:INTERPOL! (Updated)

With the signing of an under-publicized amendment to Executive Order 12425, Barack Obama has fundamentally altered your constitutional rights. His actions are undermining your rights to protect personal privacy from a foreign internationalist police agency named Interpol. A one-paragraph executive order may seem inconsequential to many, but this action has far-reaching implications and threatens the sovereignty of America.

Obama's secretive executive order amended an order issued by President Reagan in 1983. Reagan's order recognized Interpol as an international organization and gave it privileges and immunities commonly extended to foreign diplomats. Reagan opened the door to allow Interpol to operate in partnership with the U.S. but with significant constitutional safeguards. Specifically, Interpol's property and assets remained subject to search and seizure by American law enforcement, and its archived records remained subject to public scrutiny under provisions of the Freedom of Information Act. Interpol had to answer to the FBI and U.S. courts under Reagan's order. These safeguards were stripped away by Obama's action the week before Christmas without debate or explanation. Obama picked the holiday season to make this radical change, to minimize media coverage.

What color uniform do they wear .... just wondering ....

They dress as civilian's, which they are. They may look like anyone in civies. They are but international detectives. Up until now, they had little or no actual authority in the US except as go betweens with the FBI and CIA and local LEO's..

I have no idea what these changes will lead to, but I don't like it. It's a sovereignty issue.

***The Executive order is in effect until another president rescinds it. Also, I think Obama is planning to be “President for Life”**

If he tries that, how long do you think his life will be...:O)

So what you’re saying is that they can come to our home and do whatever?

They have international jurisdiction, so if you commited a crime in Spain, they can chase you across jurisdictions into any signatory country, but prior to Obama they had to deal through local LEO or FBI to make a arrest.

I don't know what they can be limited to do now, and I think that is the issue.

Going back and re-reading it, it seems that they can come over and arrest you at your home - no other law enforcement agency would be involved ... sort of like an international police force going where ever they want and doing what they want regardless of any countries laws protecting their own citizens ...

Well, if they did that it would piss off a lot of people.

The trouble with these changes as I see it, is primarily that they will now have the status of a Ambassador, where they can't be impeded or their assets seized, should we want to stop them. Embassy staff and other A'holes with this sort of protection have made a mockery of US laws many times.

It would be interesting to see what would happen should they try to arrest someone here (US) and the homeowner came out shooting ... mistakes have been made by our own LEO’s going to the wrong home as well ...

I don't think they are armed unless we give them to them in the case of a raid. But I may be wrong about that. I have not followed this issue in years.

If a homeowner did what you suggest, they would not have protection unless LEO was with them in any case.

Silence from DeMint (unexpected), Silence from Joe Wilson (unexpected) and Silence from Lindsey Graham (Expected). Wonder what’s going on.

Maybe someone should send Interpol a notice that American’s are armed and do use deadly force ....unlike their European weenies ....

I dunno, but I think it may be that in order for Interpol to do what we want them to do for security of the US, that this was the price.

Yes - Very strange and very disturbing - and I was warming up to DeMint too. Former AZ Rep, J D Hayworth is talking about it now on his talk radio program. I hope JD runs against Juan in the primary here.

I don’t really know if there is any thing that can be done about executive orders....I believe (but may be wrong) that there has been no constitutional challenge to them...

While freedom fighters in Iran are dieing to gain their God given rights, people in America sit and do NOTHING as our freedoms are taken away.

Oh wait, we are very angry and looking for a leader.

Where is the so-called GOP leadership on this? If they can't or won't fight this with vigor and mobilization of public awareness - then what good are they?

Too busy navel gazing and dodging Harry Reid's racist remarks right now.

a different administration can rescind that order for their administration....Its not written in stone for administrations that follow...

You are under the impression there will be other administrations to follow.

The panel, including Krauthammer, on the Bret Bair show FOX last week discussed it and all agreed it was not a big deal to be concern about???
