Did Chris Matthews Call Gen. David Petraeus "Gen. Betray Us"? - Video 1/4/10

Here is video of Chris Matthews last night where it sure sounds like he called U.S. General David Petraeus, "General Betray Us" as he led into a segment. Whether he did so intentionally is not clear, but it sure sounds like he said "Betray Us."

You may remember that back in 2007 - when the Left was working overtime to undermine the war effort in Iraq - a national ad was taken out by MoveOn.org in the New York Times which slimed Petraeus as "General Betray us." Here is video in case you forgot . . . . .

They slimed Petraeus as he was testifying to the need for a Surge Strategy in Iraq. Democrats - led by then Sen. Barack Obama - uniformly said it could not work - it would fail. But history shows that it was Obama, the Democrats, and people like Chris Matthews who were wrong. The Surge Strategy worked brilliantly, and Gen. Petraeus showed himself to be a great military commander and person of strength and character.

Chris Matthews owes the General an apology whether he meant to say what it sounds like he said or not. He should make it right on his program tonight and clear this up. General Petraeus is a hero, and deserves the gratitude of every citizen - not scorn and ridicule. . . . (VIDEOS)

If he didn't say "what it sounds like", he doesn't need to apologize at all.
