The Obama Purges Begin

The demands of complete subjugation to the democrat party and its leader have proven to be too much for several key democrat hacks. Two senators and one governor have abandoned plans to run for re-election in November.

Most notable is the contemptible and entirely corrupt undeserving beneficiary of dynasty politics, Chris “Countrywide” Dodd, architect of much of America’s financial crisis. The felonious Dodd is waxing lyrical about his personal woes, including the death of his Waitress Sandwich partner, Ted Kennedy.

The more plausible explanation for Dodd’s abrupt decision is that he became yet another casualty of the Chicago Way. Dodd’s complete inability to stay out of sleazy self- serving deals made him an easy mark for Rahm Emanuel. No doubt the former ballerina gave Dodd the option of not being prosecuted for multiple felonies in exchange for his bowing out of the November senate race.

Some democrats will surrender rather than face the disgrace of vanquishment by huge margins in November and lack of party support. Dodd, however, has proven himself entirely unblushing when confronted with evidence of astonishing ethical lapses.

Obama doesn’t want Dodd’s scandals and low approval numbers jeopardizing a democrat seat. Any democrat perceived as a political liability or putting up resistance to the radical party line would be wise to do some resume updating.

Republicans can savor the moment, but shouldn’t get too giddy. The party has a real flair for losing entirely winnable elections.

I wonder, what is their payoff? You know that these congressional clunkers value their position in the politburo more than life itself. So someone is paying them to resign, change the face, keep the communism.

Take one for the party.

Let's not get too excited. The Dems wouldn't let them retire if they didn't have a sense that whoever is waiting in the wings is capable of keeping the seat. If this is going to have any merit, all of us are going to have to work our behinds off and make sure the agenda stays real and accept the fact that getting 80% of what we want is better than 100% of what we don't.

Independents and disgruntled party members were allowed to illuminate PT Barnum's famous quote, “There's a sucker born every minute,” and “No one ever went broke overestimating the stupidity of the American public.”

They keep running RINOs and losing. I would rather a Democrat win every time a RINO runs against him. I have yet to weep over McCain losing. Not happy about Obama winning but did not cry at all when McCain lost either.

Democrats gave Dodd a big role in healthcare "reform" thinking that would rehabilitate his damaged image.....

There is even one laughable quote from Dodd indicating he was getting a whole new voter base from healthcare reform.

===============================================

Course I could be wrong (/snix), but this is probably what led to Dim Dodd's "decision" to quit.

Last July, Dodd proposed an amendment reducing aviation security appropriations by $4.5M in favor of firefighter grants (a move that enriched one of Dodd's financial backers). The federal money Dodd eliminated was specifically intended "for screening operations and for explosives detection systems."

AT THE TIME I POSTED THAT ITEM DEC 2009, MY ADVICE TO DODD WAS: "Dodd should pack his bags and leave now, before he's tarred and feathered and run out of DC on a rail."

I just heard someone say on Fox News, he is quitting because dems no longer have the trust of the people and the writing was on the wall he would not win.

What I missed was whether this was a assumption on someone's part or what they know for sure.

I fully intend to hear him use his cancer at some point when he gets destroyed on his reasons for not running. I believe Dodd and Reid are the Pelosi sacrifices for Hari Kari Healthcare reform. There will be others for sure.

The felonious Dodd is waxing lyrical about his personal woes, including the death of his Waitress Sandwich partner, Ted Kennedy.

Great writing. I like when they get all of it in there so no one misses anything.

I had thought that if Ben Nelson had a real spine, but knew he couldn’t stand up to the pressure, he should have just resigned his office and gone home.

Perhaps there is wisdom in distancing oneself from an institution whose members will be hanged from lamp posts when the Country succumbs to economic disaster.

This brilliant deconstruction needed a repeat.

The compulsory demands of complete subjugation to the democrat party and its (failed) leader have proven to be too much for several key democrat hacks....... who have abandoned plans to run for re-election. Most notable is the contemptible, and entirely corrupt, undeserving beneficiary of dynasty politics, Chris “Countrywide" Dodd, architect of much of America’s financial crisis.

The felonious Dodd's exit speech waxed lyrical about his personal woes, including his battle with cancer, and the death of his threesome pal, Ted Kennedy.

Dim Dodd The Quitter forgot to mention that he abandoned his Conn constituents and moved his family to Iowa in his failed, vainglorious bid for the presidency. Even sap-happy liberals who cheered Dodd's every felonious action weren't too happy with that move.

Last July, Dodd proposed an amendment reducing aviation security appropriations by $4.5M in favor of firefighter grants (a move that enriched one of Dodd's financial backers). The federal money Dodd eliminated was specifically intended "for screening operations and for explosives detection systems."

As hoosiermama posted: Dodd didn’t get legislation taking money away from the airport scanning machines by himself.....A list of all who voted for it should be made very public. and a list of any connection they might have to people who benefitted by the piece of legislation.

Scandal-Plagued Democrat Senator Chris Dodd Retires at Lowest Point in Career
Associated Content | Jan. 6, 2010 | Marc Schenker
FR Posted by Suvroc10

Scandal-Plagued Senator Chris Dodd of Connecticut retires at the lowest point in an overly long, 35-year, political career. The son of a career politician (his father occupied a senate seat for 12 years--and was forced out for corruption), Dodd has seen his already overly long, Senate career deteriorate among many scandal-plagued issues in the last few years, thus leading to some of the worst poll numbers of his career.....

Democrats gave Dodd (he was on his and knees begging) a big role in the ill-fated "healthcare reform" pushed by the unpopular Obama—---thinking it would rehabilitate his damaged image.....Dodd crowed he was attracting a whole new voter base. Predictably, that failed to turn around Dodd's sagging fortunes.....

Looks like Dodd’s amendment co-sponsors were Lieberman and Carper. It was buried in H.R. 2892, Making appropriations for the Department of Homeland Security for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2010, and for other purposes.

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/blogs/beltway-confidential/Sen-Dodd-D-Conn-slashed-aviation-security-funding-for-pet-constituency-80209967.html

Now that our attention is focused on airline security measures thanks to the failed airline attack on Christmas Day, it’s worth mentioning that one senator took money away from aviation security to line the pockets of a constituency that supported his presidential campaign in a big way.

Back in July, Senator Chris Dodd, D-Conn., proposed an amendment reducing aviation security appropriations by $4.5 million in favor of firefighter grants — a notoriously inneffective program. In fact, the money was specifically “for screening operations and the amount for explosives detection systems.” The amendment was also sponsored by Sen. Lieberman, D-Conn., and Sen. Carper, D-Del., but Dodd deserves to be singled out here because the firefighters union is a pet constituency of his. In 2007 he campaigned all through Iowa with the firefighters union. It was one of the few distinguishable features of Dodd’s ill-fated presidential bid.

The text of the amendment is below:

(Purpose: To provide additional funds for FIRE grants under section 33 of the Federal Fire Prevention and Control Act of 1974)

On page 77, between lines 16 and 17, insert the following:

SEC. X (a) The amount appropriated under the heading “firefighter assistance grants’’ under the heading “Federal Emergency Management Agency’’ under by title III for necessary expenses for programs authorized by the Federal Fire Prevention and Control Act of 1974 is increased by $10,000,000 for necessary expenses to carry out the programs authorized under section 33 of that Act (15 U.S.C. 2229).

(b) The total amount of appropriations under the heading “Aviation Security’’ under the heading “Transportation Security Administration’’ under title II, the amount for screening operations and the amount for explosives detection systems under the first proviso under that heading, and the amount for the purchase and installation of explosives detection systems under the second proviso under that heading are reduced by $4,500,000.

(c) From the unobligated balances of amounts appropriated before the date of enactment of this Act for the appropriations account under the heading “state and local programs’’ under the heading “Federal Emergency Management Agency’’ for “Trucking Industry Security Grants’’, $5,500,000 are rescinded.

Lieberman himself should be questioned during the upcoming hearing.

Dodd will be a multi millionaire within one year.

Dodd's already a millionaire what with earmarks, bribes, payoffs, hidden LLC's in businesses doing business w/ the feds, his "foundations and charities"....... not to mention the bundle his corrupt father left him, and his casino winnings financed by his backers in the financial field.

Probably Ohaha will give Dodd a cushy no-show federal job with lotsa perks, expense accounts, pensions, and the like....as a payoff for forcing him out in order to keep the seat Dim.

This morning on Fox news, Dick Morris revealed some investigations are coming out on Dodd. http://edition.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/01/06/chris.dodd.bio/ The senator was criticized last year for his role in big bonuses handed out at AIG after the insurance giant received taxpayer bailout money. AIG's Financial Products unit is based in Connecticut.

Turns out his wife has a paid position on the board of AIG. Also mentioned was Dodd excoriating Abramoff for his corruption, then come to find out Dodd received $100,000.00.

MOMENTS TO REMEMBER COURTESY OF DODD

> Dodd's sweet deals from Countrywide Morgtage;

> a castle in Ireland payoff for arranging a presidential pardon;

> Dodd in Iowa to raise million dollar contributions (bribes) from Wall Street suckups;

> lying about his role in the AIG bonuses;

> his parasitic wife making big bucks as board member for Pharma and Health Care Corporations;

> Dodd's (gag) leadership as Chairman of Senate Banking Committee as the economy did a Great Depression melt down.
