The Obama administration cynically tells us we need to reduce our dependence on foreign oil, while they have done everything they can to delay or stop us from tapping our own energy resources still in the ground. One of Ken Salazar's first acts as Secretary of Interior was canceling 77 Utah oil and gas leases that had gone through seven years of studies, negotiations and land-use planning. In an instant, he eliminated hundreds of jobs, terminated access to vital oil and gas deposits, and deprived taxpayers of millions in lease bonus, rent, royalty and tax revenues. In short he was making us more defendant on foreign oil instead of exploiting our reserves which are larger than any other country on this planet.

It just doesn’t stop.
I gotta get me a voodoo doll.
When Obamao tells us we should be less dependent on foreign oil, he means we should use all the alternative fuels with all the alternative technologies that don’t exist, but they will exist, because Obamao is going to make them exist by taking away gasoline.
Ingenious isn’t it? It took someone like Obamao to think of it.
Zero has given Brazil, American taxpayer monies to drill for oil that China alone will benefit by. There is no benefit to the United States, and the treasonist in charge forges on.
Major national security failure for the past 40 years.
O and Salazar are shills for OPEC.
Everything they do is designed to maintain or increase our dependence on OPEC. Energy independence? Sleight of hand. They talk about “renewables”, wind, solar, which replace coal and natural gas. We are independent already in coal and natural gas. These will not reduce our use of imported transportation fuels by even a teaspoon.
Its a sleight of hand. Build all the windmills you want. It doesn’t affect OPEC even a dime’s worth. It will put some coal miners out of work, and drive up your electric bill, but it will make no difference to the guys in Riyadh.
Salazar is the guy who drove home the oil shale moratorium. Oil shale we have plenty of, as much as the Saudis have oil. But its off limits. Coal to oil? We have enormous supplies of coal, but forget it. Offshore California? Florida? Alaska, where we have enormous deposits...? Forget it. Anything that will compete with OPEC is being taken off the table.
When you hear people excoriating “big oil”, referring to private oil, they are in actual fact protecting the interests of “really big oil”. OPEC. Private oil owns about 5% of the oil in the world. The rest belongs to governments. “Big” private oil is tiny when measured alongside government oil. O and Salazar aren’t going to let themselves be bought by “big oil” when they can sell us out to “really big oil”.
The first act of the Republican president on January 20, 2013 needs to be the rescinding of all executive orders dated on or after January 20, 2009, except for itself. I think that will “send a message”.
All of that puts the U.S. in a position that war for oil or
complete economic collapse will be our only choices.
You can't frustrate every source of domestic energy
without consequences. Our enemies will blackmail us
to the extent that we are vulnerable to blackmail.
The Democrats are leading us into a real war for oil.
A war we won't have the energy to fight.
A war we don't need to fight because we have our own resources.
the permits will go forward as soon as Salazar figures out how to do it in a redistributive way. Can’t have all those folks in Utah profiting without sharing their lease royalties, any more than you can have those California farmers profiting in the central valley.
Now, if I were in Utah, I’d drill baby drill and gubment permit be damned. And if I were a farmer in California, I’d be tapping into the water I needed to survive, gubment permit be damned again.
‘course, I have Watauga blood in my veins....

The usurper in chief strikes again.
