The Jay Leno Show currently seen nightly on NBC at 9:00 (CST) has sunk to such a lowly place in the ratings that local NBC affiliates all over the nation have requested that the NBC Television Network cancel the show....

I wonder if Leno has a clause in the contract that would allow him to revert back to the original time slot and push that Johnny Carson wannabe back to midnight
His 9 PM show is failing so bad that they’ll install him back on the flagship? Sounds like Obama-style accountability.
Leno is unwatchable. Time for him to retire.
I watched the new Leno show twice and thought it sucked!
I like Leno and O’Brien and wish them both success. Sometimes it can’t work out that way ...
Conan can actually write comedy. Leno is stale.
The guy who replaced him at 10:30 CT isn’t doing so great either.
NBC might consider reverting to their 2008 schedule.

O’Brien is only funny in Noo Yawk! He would be pitiful if he wasn’t so disgusting!
Conan is better than Leno...and they are both better than Letterman.
Conan picks on Sarah a lot but he did give her a nice spot with Shatner the other day.
But really they’re all pretty unwatchable.
This, of course, is precisely what the NBC network suits predicted wouldn't happen. They thought that Leno would kill during the times that the other networks were in repeats. But, as you point out, that hasn't been the case.
NBC just put out a press release a couple of hours ago that said rumors of Leno's departure were complete and entirely false. Which probably means it's imminent.
I would have much preferred that Dennis Miller take over for Leno at the Tonight Show. I think he would do just as well as O'Brien has done.
I watched Jimmy Fallon once and thought he was better than both Conan and Leno. But I stopped watching NBC because I don’t get to see any of the drama that used to be on the 10PM spot.
Conan and Jay have completely different styles. Conan’s act is performance based. He does his physical stuff, or used to when he hosted the late night show, and can ad lib without a script. Jay’s on the other hand is scripted and most of the work goes into writing it. Still I find Jay quite watchable but I can’t stand Letterman.

From the NBC network that cancelled TRAUMA then renewed it when HEROES viewership plunged.
When Leno took the spot at 10:00, I thought, great, I won’t miss his monologue (always liked his monologue and such antics as the Headlines). I tend to sack out on the sofa after the 11:00 news; this 10:00 spot seemed ideal for me. Well, I’ve managed to stay awake for about three of his monologues. I just fall asleep earlier.
I like Leno...hope he finds something suitable and that will make him happy.
My thoughts on today's late-night host (and I'll include Leno on this list even though he is now in "prime time"):
Craig Ferguson: About as close as you can get to the "old school" Parr, Allen, and Carson. Watchable. But still not Carson.
O'Brien: Has to depend too much on his looks for his laughs, and after a few of his jokes that require that... Well by then you are used to his looks and he is not funny anymore. He also (like most of the others now) feels it is required to attack anything conservative in order to win over an audience and get the laughs... Remember, in the world of late-night T.V., laughs=ratings=money.
Letterman: Worn out, smart @$$, has-been. Tried the political thing against Palin and found out most thought it wasn't funny. Got caught dipping his wick in the wrong wax, and then tried to be mister "I'm human and made a mistake, don't be so harsh to judge me" - in the mean time, if it had been any conservative he would have been on them like white on rice. Nausiating.
Leno: Nothing new to contribute to late-night T.V. so he sold the network on letting him try to sell the same old routines to an audience that doesn't stay up as late as the old one. It isn't working... Cancel the show...
The others... Sheesh... They are not worth my time.
All of this is just my opinion, mind you... But if they ever started running re-runs of the old masters like Parr, Allen, and Carson during the late-night slots, these modern-day wannabees wouldn't stand a chance.
