Hummph...yeah, imagine that...public expectations...like wanting to be protected. Koppel is an idiot.
From "MBC"...
"...on 4 November 1979 Iranians seized the American embassy in Iran, took Americans hostage, and television news took another step toward becoming the most relied on source of news. Four days later at 11:30 P.M. ABC News aired a program called The Iran Crisis: America Held Hostage anchored by Frank Reynolds. Roone Arledge, ABC News president, decided this program would continue till the hostage crisis was over, and that it would eventually become a regular late-night newscast. After about five months The Iran Crisis became Nightline, and Koppel, who had anchored The Iran Crisis several times, became the permanent anchor for the new program. Since 1980 it has been difficult to separate Koppel from Nightline. Koppel retired from Nightline in 2005."
Does Ted still sport that comb over mop on his head? I didn’t bother to view video... but yep, idiot is the precise term here. Lets say you were a passenger on that plane and when you land and get the full of what just happened, that you nearly lost your life, and that because the president wants to downplay any and all terror attempts as a means to quell the furry in the minds of the demented, and then you hear an idiot mop-head suggest that O made the right call initially... has got to make you angry. I wasn’t on the plane, and I’m pissed. “Thank God for the blunder of the terrorist”, has got to be what the white house is thinking right now, but for different reasons than why I thank God.
