I’m not sure you are aware of it but the South Park producer’s “Team America” is based directly on the “Thunderbirds.” Not exactly family viewing (includes puppet sex) but it was HILARIOUS, especially the depiction of the North Korea dictator. I recommend you rent that DVD...but don’t let your family catch you watching it.

Yes, I did know that, actually, even though I have not seen "Team America" (or "South Park," for that matter). I'm sure I would find much of it funny (and some of it needlessly vulgar). But I only see a few movies a year--don't have the time or interest beyond that.

BTW, “Thunderbirds” took some story elements from “Bonanza” (Jeff Tracy = Ben Cartwright) and the James Bond movies (Tracy Island). Also, the Tracy boys were named after American astronauts (Scott, Alan, Virgil, Gordon, John).
