Why Is Sarah Palin Associating with the For-Profit Tea Party Nation?
Pajamas Media ^ | Jan. 14 | Melissa Clouthier

Posted on 01/14/2010 9:56:55 AM PST by AJKauf

By attaching herself to this for-profit outfit, Sarah Palin undermines her standing with her very constituents. Many tea party folks are shaking their heads after being the same people to hold up signs supporting Palin. Why not donate time at the Tax Day Tea Party? Why associate with a guy with questionable tea party cred?

And these questions beg a bigger question: Who is giving Sarah Palin advice on these matters? Certainly, it does not seem that people tied into the grassroots organizations are being sought for advice.

Sarah Palin said on Bill O’Reilly’s show, regarding this engagement, that controversy seems to swirl around her. Indeed, it does. She also said that she wouldn’t be making money from the engagement, a sum rumored to be $125,000, but that the money would go to (presumably) her PAC and would help fund conservative candidates. That’s all to the good. Still, I can’t help but imagine that participating in the Tax Day Tea Party being planned in D.C. on April 15 or some other non-profit event around the country would have been more in the keeping with the spirit of the movement....

Yes. And it’s irritating. If it was real news, a real freeper would post it not a hit and run blogger.

This seems to be a pro CPAC rant.

On the other hand, channeling activist money into PACs to support candidates that reflect tea party values is not a bad thing. And it could be a positive outcome from this event.

Finally, the Tennessee event was chosen, it would seem, in lieu of an older school event like CPAC. The rationale for avoiding CPAC was the D.C. insiderish ways of the founder David Keene. The only problem with that thinking is that few CPAC attendees even know David Keene, and while he’s associated with the American Conservative Union, he hardly represents CPAC. Thousands of people will be there — most have participated in the tea party events and love Sarah Palin. It will be a gathering of conservatives from around the country and would be a rocking first outreach to conservative activists — especially young conservative activists, CPAC’s main constituency. Rush Limbaugh spoke there last year to great success. CPAC has always been newsmaking one way or another.

Well, I maybe wrong but a nonprofit organization must be non-political. So in order to keep from being scrutinized, investigated and persecuted by the IRS and the Injustice Department they become a for-profit organization.

I see no head shaking among these patriots , only this heart rending concern for them now from the same ones who have been calling them names derived from their own deviant acts .

PajamasMedia again. Yesterday they’re promoting the fake Tea Party candidate in (Coakley)Massachewsits(/Coakley)... today, it’s this nonsense. Sounds like they’re going the way of LGF.

I can't imagine why anyone would be so obsessed with Sarah Palin. We have an immoral and malevolent administration stealing money from the taxpayers, and using it to destroy our system of government. We have a culture of death taking delight in killing the unborn, encouraging euthanasia, and creating death panels to meter health care. We have an administration with a blind eye to terrorism. We have a corrupt congress bribing one another with taxpayer dollars to beget more taxpayer dollars in order to socialize health care, thus wrecking a good chunk of our economy. All heading at warp speed toward a socialist government, word courts, and UN taxes. Small businesses are under siege. We are on the brink of another economic disaster, greater than the one we find ourselves in right now.

And this dreg is worried about whether Sarah takes a bus or an airplane, or has a speaking engagement? Look at the billionaires standing to get richer with cap and trade, with bail out dollars, and more fees and taxes on banks.

For profit. For profit. For profit.

You can always tell when the prostitute media have gathered in the back room to decide on a party line for the propaganda campaign, presumably on instructions from the DNC or the White House.

“OK, guys, here’s the propaganda line: FOR PROFIT!”

I have a clue for them. Non-profit organizations are not permitted by the IRS to run a political operation. Especially if they are conservative. And it takes money to rent space, hire buses, and all the rest of what is needed for this kind of operation.

Of course they are perfectly aware of that. But they figure that FOR PROFIT is a good propaganda meme, if they repeat it often enough.

THAT GREEDY SARAH! SHE’S ALL ABOUT PROFIT!

I think they bring up leigitimate points, I am wary of “Tea Party Nation” myself (not that they might not be an ally), but $550.00 (plus expenses) seems a bit much!

I have reservations about this event also.
The promoter is a defense attorney and the money is going into his wife’s paypal account.

If this is not a scam, then it’s surely the worst organized event in recent history.
I’m a tea party supporter and I’ve been to every one of them in Nashville so far. But there is just something not right about this event.

I’m all for making a profit. But I’m not trilled about incorporating and hijacking the greatest grass roots movement this country has seen in 200 years.

IMO
