Must See Photo - Some SEIU Members Support Brown

What is happening in the increasingly upside down Massachusetts Special Election? For the Coakley campaign it must feel like the sky is falling. With large infusions of cash in the past week, SEIU leadership has tried to bail out the Attorney General and stop the slide that she is on. Maybe they should have asked their members before committing membership dues to a failing campaign.

As usual with unions, the rank and file are often of a different mindset than the leadership. But SEIU’s highly public support of Coakley, which will continue with the addition of union feet on the street until the election, will take a big PR hit from these photos.

For those of us far away from Massachusetts, I hope that Freepers will post accurate information about the crowd sizes and crowd enthusiasm at the Brown and Coakley events this weekend.

This may tell us something about likely turnout on Tuesday...

Perhaps a few of them figured out that there isn’t much need to be in a union if there’s no frikin’ jobs left.

Well, I’ll be! This just reinforces what I’ve thought of union leaders vs. union rank-and-file for many years: the former DOES NOT represent the latter.

I think often Union Leadership does not represent the rank and file. But for that matter Congressional Leadership does not often represent the electorate. How else can you explain the party line votes for Stimulus and healthcare when both are overwhelmingly opposed by the people.

I hope the purple shirted BROWN supporters are armed. I doubt the Hussein-paid SEIU thugs will be amused!

I was at this stand out for Scott Brown last night that is pictured in the article. The picture was taken at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. None other than William Jefferson Clinton was the guest speaker. At the beginning they kept us 500 feet away. We worked our way over to the public street Clinton and Coakley had to use to get in. There were about 300 hundred Brown supporters there. When Martha got out of the car,the entire crowd was yelling for Brown. The look on Martha's face was like someone had let all the air out of her balloon.

There were about 10 to 12 SEIU people in purple shirts with us. One girl had a yellow sign that read “This SEIU girl is for BROWN!” Boston Local 25 of the Teamsters Union kept driving there 18 wheeler up and down the street we were on, every time he went we waved and cheered at him, he gave us the middle finger. The campus police let the sparse few Coakley supporters up to the entrance of the building. After the Coakley went in to the building a few people with union shirts on, came by with Coakley signs, as they passed us they tore the signs up and threw them in the street, with loud cheers from the Brown supporters.

After waiting for over an hour it was time for the motorcade to leave. Both sides of the street were lined with Scott Brown supporters, for almost a block. When Bubba went by the lights were on inside his silver, Chevy Tahoe (SUV bad you must give it up Global Warming) He was smiling and waving. No Coakley supporters were around.

We need to keep the pressure on tomorrow at Northeastern University at 3 PM the Messiah speaks for Coakley.

An individual SEIU member does. I always voted conservative when I was a union member too.
