Brit Hume Thinks Martha Coakley Loss Would be Good for Democrats In the Long Run - Video

Here is video of Brit Hume telling Bill O'Reilly that Martha Coakley losing would actually help the Democrats in the long run. (Video)

Brit Hume said, "If Martha Coakley loses tomorrow it will be long term, and perhaps even short term the best thing that could ever happen to Democrats." Hume explained that a Coakley loss would stop the Democrats from being able to ram the "wildly unpopular health care reform bill through the congress." Hume said if Democrats fail to pass the health care bill "the public anger over it will subside, not completely, but it will subside quite a bit."

The Republicans MUST keep the Democrat's behavior on this matter front and center... They cannot let the issue fade away.

Who gives a crap about what’s good for the Communists, Brit?

A Coakley loss will be a tremendously GOOD thing for working, genuine, productive Americans.

Maybe but that is the Republican’s concern. My concern is stopping this bill even if it “saves” the Democrat’s from themselves.

But take heart. Up to this point they have refused to read the tea leaves correctly and they may continue their march over the cliff just as so many Republicans still are having a hard time grasping what we want as well. I don’t think the politician’s have begun to grasp their lessons yet.

The healthcare bill pass/fail is now a symbol for fraud, bribery and corruption. People are not going to forget and the Dems are not going to clean up their act. I don’t see the American people losing interest any time soon.

There are allot of angry people who know they were ignored and lied to. Good will once lost is not easy to get back. If the Republicans nationalize the November election with a new contract they will take back the House. If they promise constitutional amendments like balanced budgets and/or term limits and put it in writing, they could eventually get 2/3’s of both chambers and 3/4’s of the State Houses.

What he’s really saying is, if Brown wins and stops Obamacare, then more Dems in high-risk elections stand a chance of keeping there seats.

Don’t be fooled into thinking Brit Hume is not a member of the media elite.

I think Brit doesn’t recognize that 0bama and crew are not the standard dims. They are hard-left radicals who will never moderate their views.

Your comment is very refreshing.

I used to be a huge fan of Brit and loved the way he handily brought up facts and arguments needed to balance the panel discussions on Fox News Sunday. Sure, he frustrated me often enough by not making points I thought were obvious to broaden and challenge the panel's perspective on certain topics, but I attributed it to "nobody's perfect."

Then the Republican primaries happened and I watched with heartbroken disgust as Brit Hume contorted himself every way possible to avoid even mentioning Fred Thompson's name except when absolutly necessary. Even when Thompson's votes outnumbered Huckabee and Romney votes (which happened in a few of the states, if I recall correctly), Hume gave it barely a brief mention -- clearly he was determined that the Rudy McRombee template was the only one he'd acknowledge.

Had he been an honest journalist, one really committed to the admirable "We report, you decide" ethic, he would have covered a REAL story: that in a fraction of the time, with a fraction of the budget, of all the other candidates including mega-bucks Romney, Thompson had risen remarkably within the margin of error of the three leading candidates and as I say, in some of the states' primaries, equalled or beat them. Nary a PEEP from Hume that it had even happened, let alone that it was a remarkable accomplishment.

He revealed himself then for the phony that he is. He is most certainly a member of the media elite whose ethic is: "We report just the things that will lead you to the conclusion ... er, 'decision' ... that we want you make."

I realized then that Brit Hume wasn't worth listening to any more than any other talking head in the news media. And he STILL isn't.

Exactly right. They will continue to try to moderate their language, but they view that their time is now. They are correct in this point. At a minimum, they will have moderate (and likely large) losses in Nov. America will not continue to give them 60 or 59 seats in the Senate. This is there only chance to pass a radical agenda. They will continue full speed ahead. Immigration reform is next!

Hume is right.. if health care reform goes through.. and especially if health care reform is pushed through despite Brown winning.. it will be the end of democrats for a decade or more..
