Analysis of 2012 GOP Contenders Says Mitt Romney is "the Big Gun" - Video 1/29/10

Here is a video report assessing who might run in 2012 for the GOP Nomination for President.

The report has analyst Teddy Davis saying Mitt Romney is "the big gun" because he has money and name recognition, and the GOP has a history of choosing "second-time candidates." Romney has been campaigning for other Republicans around the country and built a lot of good will. Davis says "Romney is considered the front-runner. Sarah Palin is the big question mark, as to whether she will run or not. The downside for Palin that Davis pointed out is that "3 out of 5 Americans say she is not qualified to be President."

Newly-elected GOP Sen. Scott Brown is unlikely to run, even though he has become an overnight star with his win in Massachusetts. Davis points out that Brown is not pro-Life, which would hurt him in GOP primaries. . . . (VIDEO)

Romney is NOT the “big gun” according to the majority of conservatives.

"3 out of 5 Americans say she is not qualified to be President."

That's a pretty dumb statement when you consider who is the POTUS right now. Obama has proven that ANYBODY can be president. He/she might do a lousy job but they can still be president.

“3 out of 5 Americans say she is not qualified to be President.” Talking about Palin.

She is inherently MORE qualified than any community activist lawyer turned 1/3 term Senator.

Romney might be a party pick, but not the PEOPLES PICK.
And the people are going to decide this time at the peril of the floundering GOP.

It appears right now that almost any one could win against Obama in 2012. If the Democrats run Hillary, for example, Romney would not stand a chance.

If Mitt Romney is the Repubs nominee in 2012, I will not vote. He will make sure we have Federal health care and, of course, a much larger government. He will continue where Obama stopped to make sure we lose our freedom where health care is concerned.

A 'big gun' for who? The RINOs? Those in the party who want to lose in 2012? Look, we can't endorse a governor who actually implemented the same kind of healthcare system the entire Tea Party movement grew up against, that the current occupant in the White House is trying to do nationwide. Obamacare IS Masscare x 50. There's no way we aren't hypocrites if Romney is the 'big gun'.

I doubt Palin will run. I know that statement inflames some people; but, her emphasis right now seems to be on making some money to pay her bills. She has alot of time for on on political career, but would risk going into obscurity if she lost to Obama again.

Romney - I think the time is now for the RNC to change the primary rules, or we may get stuck with him....but Steele probably loves Romney.

I want Fred! But I doubt he’ll run.

Brown - are they kidding?

Obama knows the SCoTUS will stand in his way to become dictator after the birth certificate/legal citizen trial, now in progress, is completed.

That’s why he is belittling the courts now with objective obfuscation.

NO HE ISN’T .. AND I’M SICK OF THE moderate repubs TRYING TO FOIST ANOTHER LOSER ON US.

THEY DID THE SAME THING WITH McCAIN - “IT’S HIS TURN” GARBAGE.

Good grief .. don’t we ever learn anything from our past mistakes. WE NEED A WINNER .. SOMEBODY WHO KNOWS WHO THEY ARE AND WHAT AMERICA IS ALL ABOUT .. not just some good looking guy who can balance a bank statement.

AND .. IN CASE ANYBODY HAS BEEN READING ANY OF THE MANY POLLS OUT THERE .. IT’S NOT ROMNEY WHO IS LEADING THE PACK .. BUT SARAH PALIN.

Hmmmm ..?? Is that the reason the moderates have begun to push Romney on us ..??

I doubt Palin will run.”

Why not?

I know that statement inflames some people;”

Why would it? Someone telling you that you are wrong is not equal to someone being “inflamed” about anything.

but, her emphasis right now seems to be on making some money to pay her bills.”

She already made at already $8 million from her book(which has sold at least 2 million copies by now). Her legal bills were around only $500,000. Plus Fox is probably paying her at least $1 milion a year as a Fox News contributer, because of her ability to attract very high ratings.
She has by far more money today, than she has ever had in her entire life.

She has alot of time for on on political career, but would risk going into obscurity if she lost to Obama again”

She would be in even bigger political obscurity of she waited another 7 years from now before running.

It came out very clearly during the 2008 Campaign that Romney has changed his colors on issue after issue to make himself appear to be conservative now.

Many of those issues like abortion, are matters of the heart and soul, and it is hard to imagine how someone could change their mind so completely this late in life.

I hope there is a true conservative alternative to Romney in 2012. I was for Fred Thompson in 2008, but conservatives divided the vote between too many candidates for a true conservative to win. We don’t want that to happen again.
