Even the friendly media is quick to blame the tea party for their flop in the yesterday’s Chicago primary melodrama. None of the candidates supported by the local tea party won the right to meet the democrats in the general election. The truth is there is no one single tea party (in the sense of a conventional political party) – it is just few local grassroots groups.... It is great that the tea party movement has so many faces. Attempts to force it into a shiny casing of a conventional party will fail. It is a grassroots movement of million folks with million visions of the world. The Nashville, Tennessee Convention was an attempt to bring the leaders of the movement together in the luxury setting of the Opryland Hotel prompted a rebellion all over the country. Tea drinking folks are their own leaders. They like to organize on the free public square, not in smoky convention halls........ Sarah Palin understands that tea party folks around the country cannon be perfectly organized and it is the beauty of it. The movement may make or break candidates in the future. It may not happen in Illinois, but they may succeed in Florida. Every success will feel much better if it comes from a genuine people’s movement instead of the well oiled political machine. You win some – you lose some – you pick yourself up and learn- and keep trying.......
