After customer reports of issues with braking in their 2010 Fusion and Milan hybrid vehicles, Ford has announced it will update a software upgrade to the brake system. 17,600 Mercury Milan and Ford Fusion gas-electric hybrids are to be repaired.
The automaker says the problem occurs in transition between two braking systems and at no time are drivers without brakes.
The decision to fix the 2010 model cars came after a test driver for Consumer Reports magazine experienced the problem as he was driving a Fusion Hybrid.

Too much safety crap on cars as it is. It makes morons think they’re invincible.
Non-issue. Ford, LM and Mercury’s stuff is very good these days. The Milan and Fusion are great cars.
Nothing could be worse than to be in competition with the Feds, yikes.
Yup no one wants a ford probe uranus
That thar was a good one!
The two biggest privately owned automakers (Ford and Toyota) have big recalls. But government-owned GM does not. I’m sure that Obama will say that this proves the superiority of socialism. But then is it any surprise that Obama doesn’t make GM recall its vehicles?
Very interesting... I wonder if GM will ever come onto the radar.
oh no, there will never be ANY problems with gov’t motors vehicles! they are only targeting their competitors!
told you Ford was going to be next.
The problem is the way the brakes feel as the braking system switches over, not how the brakes operate. Plus, they already tweaked it, and are just going back voluntarily and fixing the relatively small number of cars that were made before the tweak.
Toyota is a non-union shop and Ford is not beholden to Obama vis a vis bailout money.
Anyone here see a pattern....?
Toyota and Ford are profitable with deep pockets. I hope they go after this administration and crucify them.
