The other day I was slapping Congressman John Boehner (R, OH) around for his absurd claim that there was no difference between the Tea Party movement's principles and the GOP establishment's principles (or lack thereof). Well, today I have to give our Congressional Minority Leader a pat on the back for his letter to Obama about healthcare.
For those unaware, Obama has offered to come have another one of his odious "summits" with the GOP. Obama is claiming he wants to "listen" to the Republican's ideas and that its time to work together. It's all a sandbag, though. Obama is a liar and doesn't intend to "listen" to anyone. It's a move for show, a bright shiny bauble that the Old Media wonder at like the lap dogs they are.
Obama's played this lie out many, many times in the past. It was his common mantra when he was a State Senator here in Illinois. He'd make all sorts of soothing noises about "listening" to all sides and "working together." Then he would ignore all offers of collaboration and all ideas offered as he would go on to propose a strictly, down-the-line socialist styled liberal agenda. He's never once in his life ever included any ideas from the other side in anything he's ever done in politics. The man is simply a liar. There just isn't any other way to say it...

Dang, that letter has fangs.

I see they’ve found their cojones. Must have broken into Pelosi’s office and stole them back.
Here’s hoping they keep them through this fall’s elections and beyond.
Sweet.
Isn’t it a bit late to invite GOP AFTER the House AND Senate have already passed versions? Like, are they really going to add Tort Reform at this point? No. Are they going to amend or re-write the bills and put them to new votes? No. The whole thing is a sham. I am very tired of the Snake Oil Salesman in Chief (SOSICOTUS??). This cynical BS is just awful.
Excellent letter. Great news.
Now, I am not a politician. I am not the least bit interested in any compromise with the dems. Bipartisanship is a four letter word or some perverted sexual preference with farm animals.
I would tell the dems that the GOP version will be passed as is, period. If Obama doesn’t yield to that, then the GOP will make it law during the second week of November, regardless of what the dems come up with.
Regardless, it’s good to see that the GOP has found a set, they better keep them, as on this........ failure is not an option.
HOW LONG HAS BONER BEEN IN OIFFICE???
AND *NOW* WE SHOULD THINK HE SUDDENLY HAS GROWN A SET???
Looks like the Tea Party has given the US House GOPers a spine.
The only “set” any elected representative is permitted to exhibit is that which We the People give them.
To the extent We the People are involved with, concerned about, and provide vigorous feedback-enough to overwhelm the constant K St lobbying manipulation that purchases and sets the Washington agenda-our representatives will listen. If we are silent...all they hear is K St. When both parties only hear K st...none of us should be surprised that their priorities and “solutions” appear identical.
I never thought I would see the day the GOP leadership did anything but roll over and beg. Now I’m waiting for the response.

Tennessee has joined several other states in trying to pass a Health Care Freedom Act. NO COLAs for granny, retired Military or retired fed employees. BIG NEW fees for Tricare for Life retired over 65 Military's secondary health ins. (DOD bill already passed, delayed but goes into effect 2011)
New Dem mantra: Woof, woof eat dog food granny....ala let them eat cake.
